I'll try to watch it.

About hotness of S5 Dylan, I don't know. He did look hot in some episodes, but in a lot of them he looked simply unwashed.

Nice photo! I think there is a similar shot with Jason, but I've never seen this one before.

Re-watching some S5. I actually find it hard to believe that a guy as smart as Dylan would turn to substance abuse for comfort, especially after he'd already battled alcohol, and won.

Great picture.

Yeah, and I think it was even suggested he's also been though drugs before (not sure about it), and through gambling. Then again, it means he was an addictive person, so no wonder the problem was recurrent. Dylan was a big drama queen, and he's got a trigger a.k.a. being tricked and betrayed by Kevin and Suzzane, and pretty much fooled by them, and his pride could not take it, so he turned to substances for relief and self-punishment and not to people for help.

I definitely see your points. But when I look back on that emphatic "I do not want to drink" in S3, during the most painful period of his life, it seems kind of unlikely that he'd give in to substance abuse again.

I know that addicts go back sometimes, but I suspect that the writers couldn't come up with anything else, so they kind of dishonored his character development.

 I agree. I guess he (and the writers) mainly suffered from plot-devicitis :)

^ Quin, how are you? It's been a long time.

No, I'm not watching Riverdale.
