Spelling Donna and David were each other’s first loves.
When you go through so much with someone, how can some of that not rub off personally?
I will always hold a special place in my heart for Brian.
Priestley Tori and Brian didn’t have any struggles, the two of them, at all. With each other or with me.
Mollin Jason did a nice sensitive job with that scene.

Why do you think the episode resonates with people?
Tori I’m not sure. But I’m really proud.
We did ten seasons and hundreds of episodes
so it’s obviously something that makes me really proud that this is the one that stands out the most to people.
When we made it, we had no idea it would be that huge.

 Awesome! I think Donna would approve. Something about the 'sparkly' nature of the design is fitting for her.

Oh wow - an actual new article on Donna losing her virginity. Love the title, lol. "‘You Waited’: The Oral History of Donna Losing Her Virginity on Beverly Hills, 90210"

:in_love: the little boombox! And the music notes and soundtrack art. Nice new design for the fan list.

 Mel! I used your song choices too.

Thanks! I'm glad we have a place to discuss Tori again.

I think she's the only character on :ff: with "Pomp and Circumstance" on the soundtrack. The whole world knows why, though. ;) (or they damn well should)

^

I love that it's included in the soundtrack!

Reality Series 'True Tori' Starring Tori Spelling To Premier April 22nd on Lifetime

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 31, 2014) – With her marriage in crisis, tabloids and gossip sites have been speculating for months about Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott. Now, the real story will be told as it should be, by Tori Spelling herself, in the new Lifetime docu-series, True Tori, premiering Tuesday, April 22 at 10pm ET/PT. Airing just three short weeks after cameras begin filming, the show will document the couple in almost real-time as they navigate the unknown road ahead, beginning when Dean leaves treatment.

Growing up as part of Hollywood royalty, Tori has always lived her life in the public eye. The world watched as Tori and Dean fell in love and became parents to four beautiful children. But Tori’s fairytale life came crashing down when reports of Dean’s infidelity hit the tabloids last December, throwing their marriage and family into crisis.

Now, in a unique television event, Tori has made the courageous decision to allow the audience to witness the most difficult and unpredictable period in her life. Intimate, raw, emotional and completely real, Tori will tell her story for the first time as it should be told – by her. Since viewers will be seeing events almost immediately after they occur, nobody knows how the drama will unfold – not Tori, not Dean – and only time will tell if Tori and Dean’s marriage survives.

Let me be the first to say that a) I'll watch it (of course), and b) it's getting ridiculous how many reality shows Tori has been a part of.

Tori and Dean: Storibook Weddings, Tori and Dean: Inn Love, Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, Craft Wars ... I feel like I'm missing another 'Tori and Dean' one. I'm not even sure what I've seen and what I haven't at this point.

Way back when she did "NoTorious", the scripted comedic spoof on 'what it was like to be Tori Spelling', I thought that was going to be a fun, first and last way she expressed all this. Boy was I wrong. Then park this in with the bunch of cheekily named books (just like all the TV series) and the family website, and Dean's website, and the fashion line, her children's book, Twitter, the jewelry line ... it's actually hard to keep up with her.

OMG. They also had that cooking show on the lifestyle channel. I'm slightly embarrassed that I've seen most of these.

Yeah, I think this is the way she brands herself. She sees "Tori Spelling" as a business. I have mixed feelings about this - to do the reality tv route, books, website, ect. I feel like it's giving up on herself as an actress. I'm glad she and Jennie are doing a new show. Isn't that enough?

I feel like this show is financial - reality tv must pay well. But, I don't know, I wonder if Tori is addicted to being a tabloid fixture. It keeps her relevant but I dunno. I'm not sure how I feel about it.

playgroundDiaries 04-02-2014 09:07 PM

I'm with you on these mixed feelings. That's definitely how Tori brands herself. And yeah, it is giving up on the dream of critical acclaim and winning an Oscar, but I think that ship has sailed for all of the cast.

But remember when she refused to publicly acknowledge the rumors about Dean, and we all took it as her way of pushing back to say that, 'Hey, some things are private'? For Tori to do a reality show now which focuses on this very topic - which broke her heart - it's like ... you don't owe a network this. You don't owe it to the public to tell them 'the real story'. You don't owe anyone anything. But this leaves the impression that she believes differently. And I think there comes a point when she's violating herself without knowing it.

Never. :lmao: More cameras!

I kind of have mixed feelings about how she brands herself too. It's definitely a weird situation.

I once heard Lauren Conrad, the star of The Hills, on a talk show and she said that she thought she and Tori did similar things. Lauren has been able to parle her Hills fame into books, appearances, a clothing line, ect. But I was kind of sad for Tori because as big as the Hills was it wasn't Beverly Hills, 90210. Lauren is only being herself - it would just seem Tori has more options because she is an actress. I don't think she needs and Oscar or critical acclaim but what about being a working actress? I looked at her IMDB page and she hasn't had a lot of work in the last 5 years. But one thing Tori does have is that she has producing talent. Didn't she cast Shannen and Jason in 90210? She is producing this new show Mystery Girls but I really think she has a talent for that sort of thing. One could argue that she is producing reality shows but I think she has a need for people to like her and sees reality tv as an avenue in doing that.

I couldn't agree more. The reality show and the books have invited people into her marriage. Everyone has an opinion. I personally don't think this is healthy. Yes, I believe she is violating herself without knowing it. And I'm kind of giving a side eye to her mother. If this show is because they need the money, would it kill the mother to give them some money as they are going through a hard time? Yikes.
