Things That Bothered You About TBD

Warning. My comments are based on the episodes aired on NBC. I couldn't watch the later episodes that were later shown online.

-I already posted about this on the Jenny/Tommy thread but I was upset at the show for not paying more attention to that relationship. I loved that it wasn't just a lovey-dovey type of couple, and that it had its problems (like Jenny being married! ), but the show didn't feature them nearly enough!

-Dokey. That was one terrible character, I thought. Maybe it was me but I didn't believe him at all. His motivations were always draped with selfish arrogance but the show tried too much to sell him as this bad guy looking for his brother's killer. I bought it at first but when the episodes kept coming I thought the character arc was totally wrong for him. He would've been better as a cold hearted bastard who cared for nobody and was using his brother's death for criminal profit. Maybe I missed something there but that's how I saw it.

-Tommy and Kate had WAY too much chemistry to just leave it so vague. It drove me CRAZY!

Well for me I would have liked to see more of Sean and his past. I feel like he was the one Donnelly brother that was never developed fully, or atleast the way the other brothers were.

Of course being a Tommy/Jenny fan I feel like they werent given the proper time. They had few scenes together yet were a huge element of the show.

-I've got to agree on the T/J aspect of the show. Being a HUGE fan, they were most of my fav parts, yet they didn't get enough. Honestly when I first saw the previews for the show I thought they were together, so big suprise when she turned out to be married. I know the show was about family, but I almost felt jipped that we didn't get more T/J since they were a big part of the show. My guess is they didn't expect it to be so popular as they were for a show like this

-Jimmy I don't know why but something about Jimmy really bugged me. I just felt like Tommy would take a step forward and Jimmy would make him 2 take steps back. I know it added dynamtic to the show, but for some reason I just couldn't like him at all.

-How it was cancelled after it's first season will be the thing that bugged me the most

This was my main issue with the show.

The thing that bothered me most was Jimmy. I really didn't like the character at all. Of course, I never watched the online episodes. He may have gotten better.

I agree. The character was SO clueless and incapable of not getting himself and his family in trouble. Ugh.

And he was very ungrateful. That was probably the thing that bothered me the most.

Just thinking about it makes me flare. I mean, the brothers were getting their faces smashed, having to kill people and he just kept digging deeper and deeper. Total jerk, man.

He was sweet to Sean in one of the last televised episodes, but it was almost not nearly enough.

Jimmy is a very unredeemable character. I would have liked to see more of his soft side, or even a more sympathetic side.

Or any kind of sympathetic side.
