It sucks big time. This always happens....most of good shows get canceled and all the crap stays.

Just quick questions : how was the show (don't remember the name, I'm in denial :P ) replacing TBD ? Were its ratings good, I mean, worth removing TBD ?

The ratings of what they showed last week in place of it was a variety comedy show called Thank God You're Here, and it did about as bad/good as a normal ep of TBD. About 5 million or so. So yeah, big success yanking a show that was doing that or better most weeks.

In series-premiere news, the two-hour launch of NBC improvisational comedy Thank God You’re Here scored a respectable 8.31 million viewers and a 3.6/ 9 among adults 18-49 from 9-11 p.m., with the half-hour breakdown as follows:

9:00 p.m. Viewers: 9.52 million (#4), A18-49: 3.8/10 (#4)
9:30 p.m. Viewers: 9.57 million (#4), A18-49: 4.1/10 (#3)
10:00 p.m. Viewers: 7.86 million (#3), A18-49: 3.6/ 9 (#2)
10:30 p.m. Viewers: 6.31 million (#3), A18-49: 3.5/10 (#2)
Looks like the reality show did better than TBD. That's just sad people!

The Black Donnelly's was hosed. It had to be on the 4th place network, and they removed HEROES as it's lead in. Which cost this show an audience. However, with most cancelled QUALITY shows, this show had to cost a fortune to freakin produce. This meant that the ratings were not generating enough of an audience to sustain this show for it's 13 episode run. At least we have DVDs coming out sometime this year. So we can see how the first season wrapped up, and without blasted commercials.

^will they still make dvds of the show?

im so pissed right now!!!

I would love to see how much money and advertising time NBC put into "Thank God You’re Here" vs. The Black Donnellys

The Crow 04-16-2007 08:03 AM

I don't know, but I know that I saw a lot of commercials for TBD for months before it came out.

meli5 04-16-2007 10:39 AM

Why did they cancel it?

kbear78 04-16-2007 03:44 PM

because the ratings suck just as much as the network does...
