Gigi #3 ~ because it might be ending, but the experience will last forever
Gigi  Plot Gaston is a restless Parisian playboy who moves from one mistress to another, while also spending time with Gigi, a precocious younger friend learning the ways of high society. The platonic relationship between Gaston and Gigi changes, however, when she matures, but the possibility of something lasting seems unlikely since he won't commit to one woman. Gigi refuses to be anyone's mistress, however, and Gaston must choose between her and his carefree lifestyle. The show's last performance is June 21st??? Seriously?? That stinks. I am so upset. I was planning to see it this summer, and now I can't. Anyone know why?? Were ticket sales down? It sure seemed like people loved it who saw it.

Considering the show was suppose to run until October I would say this is quite the early dismissal. From what I've heard ticket sales were low and it was considered a mediocre show so they decided to cut it early. This is a bummer. I was really enjoying watching Vanessa have steady work.

I had a bad feeling that the lack of Tony nominations would come back to bite them in the butt. If you think about it Broadway is very black and white. There's a lot of competition and right now there are several shows that have a better story than Gigi. It is what it is. Although I feel bad for the cast, especially for Vanessa because I think it's something she really enjoys. I liked getting to see her do something besides work out every day.

im so happy I've been able to share this time with vanessa. I will be at the June 21st show in the front row and I think I will probably cry
 I'm really sad for V, she's done sooooo amazingly well and the cancellation is no fault of hers or the casts  they made a lot of changes fom DC and previews that I wasn't too sure about and it's such a shame for the cast I'm sure she must be disappointed but she'll be gracious and humble as ever and I knows she's had an amazing time __________________

Thanks for the new thread!
What a shame to see the show closing early. At least Vanessa seems like she's had the time of her life doing it, but it's so sad for everyone involved. |

She seems to have charmed the Broadway community so I'm sure she will get another opportunity!

thanks for opening
 sucks that the show is ending early, but like everyone has said, v has had such a great time. this was one of her big dreams to do and she got to do it! Im sure shell try it again. Shes such a natural on stage and i think shes really proven that with this show. __________________

I think more productions will be open for her to take part after this. shes proved that she actually has what it takes and isnt just another disney girl
