They used a fat suit and make-up effects to make him 'fat'. One of the video diaries on the S3 DVD set explains what exactly they did to make him look fat, I watched it the other day and it's interesting to see Jamie go from his usual self to Fat!Lee.

No question, but why in this time of dire need is he seeking this position? Any other time I say, go for it, but they've lost Kat, Kara is "sort of lost" right now, they don't have an experienced CAG of the quality that Lee brings in the cockpit. Maybe in upcoming episodes he'll be needed in the government. Or in the future Lee may realize that being a pilot, being CAG, being in the military is exactly where he belongs. (I thought he was excellent as the commander of Pegasus.) But if he comes back it will be with the full realization that it is what he wants.

But I do see your point. Lee being Lee, he would never leave if he thought he was needed there.

So, who thinks Lee is going to be the next president?

He's been the President's guy since the begining, now he's going to the government, he convinced the judges during the trial, he's good. I think he has it at all and it seems to me that's where he's storyline is going...

Is it just me or is there a huge lack of screen time for JB/Lee right now

I can't help myself, but there's something missing right now and a storyline with Lee would be nice, given it's the last season and all...

two episodes without Lee is just wrong. I hope they make up to that in the next episode. I'm missing the guy

But I think with the Demetrius story over we will see more of him. Especially now that Roslin is in a real bad condition.

I think she's in no condition to lead the human race at the moment, and she's realizing that... I think.
Zarek is the vice-president. So if she leaves he'd be the one eplacing her. But Zarek is Zarek... he has all that past. And I don't think Adama (and many others) would accept him as president. So... who's left? someone people would trust, someone to give them hope, someone new, someone who knows what is to make hard decisions in difficult moments... that's Lee.
I can see it happening.

I'd like to see him back at the cockpit too. But I think now he's doing what he's meant to do. This is what he always wanted, but pushed away because of his father. This show deals a lot with fate... and I think this is Lee's fate.

Well, since my gf went to the convention in Seattle the other day and met Jamie for a few minutes, took pics, and attended the panel, she'll probably share a few things with you on this thread regarding Lee's role on the show, where it's going, etc . Stay tuned

I love that Jamie & the fatman video blog, it's amazing what they can do with prostectics these days. I always have to laugh when he mentions he was wearing Grace Park's pregnancy suit
