And Jeremy Piven seems to think so too. E! News caught up with Entourage's most A-type star, Ari Gold, at the premiere of The Hangover and here's what he has to say about Zac's upcoming guest spot...

"He actually is a total sweetheart, and he was awesome, and now he’s going to become a client of Ari Gold," Jeremy told E!

An exact airdate hasn't been confirmed yet for his guest role, but Jeremy said, "It will be in kind of the middle. But it’ll be nice. It’ll be a step up in a major way. He comes on as himself, like David Schwimmer does. A lot of people come on as themselves and they are very self-deprecating and taking one for the team. And they don’t look great in it. And they’ve been amazing. People have been incredible. It’s been an amazing year."

As we previously scooped, Zac filmed his scenes for the episode at the Beverly Hills Niketown store on Tuesday morning.

HBO has confirmed that Zac Efron will play himself in an episode of Entourage when it returns July 12 for a sixth season. (The news was first reported by E! Online.) Aaron Sorkin will also make a cameo this season, as first revealed on EW.com back in April.

Zac to star & executive produce in Mandate Thriller

Zac Efron has signed to star in an untitled thriller for Mandate Pictures, which is being written by Leslie Dixon.

The plot is being kept under wraps but it is described as "a sexy thriller." The deal continues the evolution of Efron from the teen heartthrob of the "High School Musical" franchise to a more mature leading man, and also sees him stepping into producing shoes. He will act as executive producer with Mandate's Nathan Kahane.

Frequent Mandate collaborator Greg Shapiro of Kingsgate Films ("The Hurt Locker"), Jason Barrett, and Dixon will produce.

Nicole Brown will oversee the project for Mandate.

Efron and Dixon, a respected veteran writer whose credits include 1999's "The Thomas Crown Affair and "Freaky Friday," first worked together on "Hairspray."

No director is on board.

Efron, repped by CAA and Alchemy Entertainment, last starred in New Line's teen comedy "17 Again," which grossed almost $63 million domestically. Dixon is repped by CAA.

Zac Efron has signed on to star in an untitled thriller for Mandate Pictures, with Greg Shapiro of Kingsgate Films, Jason Barrett and Leslie Dixon producing.

Dixon's penning the script; the logline's staying under wraps. Project reteams the scribe with Efron two years after she wrote and he starred in "Hairspray."

Efron and Mandate's Nathan Kahane will exec produce. The thesp has worked previously with Barrett, who exec produced "17 Again."

Efron ankled Paramount's remake of "Footloose" in March and is set to reteam with "17 Again" director Burr Steers on an adaptation of novel "The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud" at Universal.

Shapiro's credits include "The Hurt Locker" and the "Harold and Kumar" franchise.

The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud -- CONFIRMED

Zac Efron is negotiating to re-team with "17 Again" director Burr Steers on an adaptation of the novel "The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud."

The film will likely be the next for Efron, who just ankled Paramount's "Footloose" remake.

Former "Good Morning America" exec producer Ben Sherwood wrote the book, about a caretaker at a cemetery who manages to have weekly meetings with a younger brother whose accidental death he feels was his fault.

Marc Platt is producing, and while Efron's deal is still being negotiated, Steers is set and has already begun polishing a script originally written by Craig Pearce, with James Schamus and Lewis Colick also turning in drafts.

Production will begin in July. The Efron-Steers collaboration "17 Again" will be released by New Line/Warner Bros. on April 17.

Paramount is meeting other actors to topline the Kenny Ortega-directed "Footloose," which the studio still expects will be on its 2010 release schedule.

A script rewrite for "Footloose" was turned in by Susannah Grant, and the studio is firming up music plans. Four songs from the original film will be used, and six new tunes will be added, from various artists. The film will not be a burst-into-song musical, though the heroine in the new film will be a singer.

Johnny Quest rumors

I myself think it's a surprising but interesting choice, and I'm one of the people in town who think Efron (like Justin Timberlake) has a big future ahead of him and that people will look back on his frothy Disney duty as just the early steps in the choreography of his career. Making Jonny older will change the property, to be sure, but maybe it will make it richer as well.

i knew it!
