It was certainly an interesting turn of events that Matt was the only one who did good since he'd just told Danny in the last episode that he would be the one who screwed up most of the time, lol.

It's kinda more fun this way, though. By not having loved them right off the bat, you can go back and look at these episodes a little differently than you did the first go around.

"So it always knows"
"Don't endow the thing with special powers, Matt"

TOO LATE!!

I love the way Matt asks how the clock always knows and Danny's like, it's got a battery. Still, I can see how the clock constantly counting down would drive a person crazy.

 That's one of my favorite MD moments ever. :sigh: Love them and the silly.

 Their friendship is easily my favorite thing about this show. I also like how when Tom, I think, suggests using the line about their producer in the song for the cold open, Matt immediately looks at Danny to see his reaction and then Matt's ready to use it.

Their friendship really made the show  It wouldn't have been anywhere near so good without it. .. It was just one of those really great TV looks. Like you can see what they're thinking.

I am a little behind, I'll catch up by the weekend. ;)

tidbit2008 08-06-2008 08:26 PM

I'm not even sure where we are anymore. I say we do the one I missed at Dallas next Monday. By then everyone should be back home and maybe we'll all be able to be caught up and really get this thread on fire.

So, next Monday we do 1x03, The Focus Group? How's that sound?

Wayward Melody 08-06-2008 11:35 PM

Thats sounds like perfection!

tidbit2008 08-07-2008 07:45 PM

Sweet :D

ellie_dakota 08-12-2008 07:31 PM

So are we going to go ahead with The Focus Group this week?

tidbit2008 08-12-2008 10:41 PM

I think we all forgot.. We're turning out to be pretty bad at this rewatch thing

*pokes thread*

I've never watched the show :look: does someone want to explain what it is about in a nutshell?

tidbit2008 10-12-2008 06:00 PM

Well, it's a show within a show. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is more or less a fictional SNL except it's on Friday nights. But it's more so about the real lives of the actors/writers/producers and a couple network execs... I don't think I'm doing a very good job explaining..

From the back of the box:
Quote:

What goes on behind the scenes of a nationwide late-night comedy sketch show? Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing, answers that question with a must-see show within a show filled with engaging characters, ear-grabbing dialogue and a Hollywood hive of insider buzz.

Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford portray the likable hotshots brought in to revive NBS-TV's sagging flagship comedy series and Amanda Peet plays their savvy boss in episodes exploring the lives and loves of - the make-or-break creative pressures on - the show's staff. Panic. Chaos. Fear. Sleep deprivation. Just make sure it's funny by Friday. Because that's when a nation tunes in to Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
It was a good show :)

tv_junkie 10-13-2008 06:11 AM

ok thanks for that :)
