So much love. It's up there with my favorites I think. It felt Keeping the Moon-ish to me. Maybe just cause it was in Colby, but still. I never even try to make the last. I do however always start the re-read within a week or so.

Oooh. All of hers are wonderful. Hrm. Either The Truth About Forever, This Lullaby, Keeping the Moon or Just Listen. I'm rereading Dreamland at the moment, which is heartbreakingly awesome. She's written like 9, so just whichever one strikes your fancy. I wouldn't start with That Summer, it's good but general consensus likes that one least. So the only three I haven't mentioned are Someone Like You, Lock & Key, and Along for the Ride(which is still in hardback or I'd rec it big time, lol). SLY and L&K are good, but Idk, lol. L&K was good but not one of my faves, and it's been agesss since I reread SLY.
Chris' fav is The Truth About Forever. My fav is Keeping the Moon. So there ya go. Idk. I love all her books too much, lol. But, if you plan on seeing the My Sister's Keeper movie, I HIGHLY recommend reading the book first. It's sooo sooo good. It's by Jodi Picoult. Who's another of my fav authors, lol. __________________

I will look into those books, for sure. I read Jodi Picoult's Plain Truth and I really liked it though I saw the ending coming from miles away. I've read alot of stuff about My Sister's Keeper both good and bad so I'm not sure about that. Right now I'm finishing The Memory Keepers daughter which is good but I'd recommend the book I read just before to anyone. It one the Pulitzer for fiction I think it was 2003 called Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides...such an amazing novel.

I loved it, but I guess not everyone would. The end is kind of rough, but it fit, strangely enough. I wasn't jumping for joy, but it fit, you know how that goes sometimes? I dunno, I hear they changed the ending for the movie.
I keep hearing about The Memory Keeper's daughter, but I haven't picked it up yet. Maybe. I think I've heard mention of Middlesex before, but I don't remember anything about it. __________________

I hated the ending of My Sister's Keeper. I thought it was a cop out. She opened up this big moral question, and then didn't follow through on it. In general, I don't much like Piccoult's endings.
Sarah Dessen is love. I'll agree with Avery's recs. I think you could start with any of them other than That Summer. (Which I just bought. I now have all of hers.) Aaaand, I bought my Spring Awakening tickets today. ETA: Mandy, I keep meaning to tell you that you should get a Twitter just so you can follow the Glee cast. They're hilarious, and I love them all. My icon is made out of pictures Cory Monteith and Jenna Ushkowitz tweeted of each other. __________________

I didn't say I loved it, but for whatever reason it fit, oddly. IDK. I liked it. Go away, lol. You're not helping
haha. But That Summer's not bad. It's just not a favorite lol. Woot woot __________________

I'm allowed to not like something you do like. XP
And, agreed on That Summer. I don't think Sarah Dessen is capable of bad. It's just my least favorite of hers by a lot. __________________

Middlesex is about a hermaphrodite that was raised female but actually, the gender leaned more towards male and kind of his journey to awareness. It goes back two generations to talk about the grandparents and parents as they enter into American society and also some incestuous stuff that went on which led to the fifth chromosome problem. It's such a finely rendered book.
I keep hearing I have to get twitter. I'm still holding off on facebook...so we'll see how long this all lasts. I'll certainly check out the book. __________________
