Ryan Reynolds #14: Because He's Even More Adorable Now That He's A Happily Married Dad!!

Date of Birth: October 23, 1976, Vancouver, Canada
Birth Name: Ryan Rodney Reynolds
Height: 6' 2½" (1.89 m)
Ryan is the youngest of four children. His father, Jim, was a Vancouver food wholesaler. His mother, Tammy, was a retail-store saleswoman. Between 1991-93, Ryan appeared in "Hillside" (1990) (aka "Fifteen"), a Nickleodeon series taped in Florida with many other Canadian actors. After the series ended, he returned to Vancouver where he played in a series of forgettable TV movies. He did small roles in Glenn Close's Serving in Silence: The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story (1995) (TV) and CBS's update of In Cold Blood (1996) (TV). However, his run of luck had led him to decide to quit acting.

One night, he ran into fellow Vancouver actor and native Chris Martin. Martin found Ryan rather despondent and told him to pack everything: they were going to head to Los Angeles, California. The two stayed in a cheap LA motel. On the first night of their stay, Reynold's jeep was rolled downhill and stripped. For the next four months, Ryan drove it without doors. In 1997, he landed the role of Berg in "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place" (1998). Initially, the show was reviled by critics and seemed desperate for any type of ratings success. However, it was renewed for a second season but with a provision for a makeover by former "Roseanne" (1988) writer Kevin Abbott. The show became a minor success and has led to additional film roles for Ryan, most notably in the last-ever MGM film, a remake of The Amityville Horror (2005). Ryan was engaged to Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette, another Nickelodeon veteran, between 2004-2006.

Blake Lively Pregnant, Takes Walk With Ryan Reynolds: Picture - Us Weekly

Quote:
Spotted: First-time parents-to-be Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds! The A-list couple took a stroll through Lake Placid, N.Y. last Wednesday, Oct. 1, five days before Lively revealed her pregnancy on her lifestyle website Preserve.

Lively, 27, looked snug in an oversized, autumn-appropriate gray wool coat by Smythe, which she accessorized with multiple layers of scarves, boots, and a ladylike box purse. The Gossip Girl alum's dirty blonde locks fell down to her shoulders naturally, as she went incognito in a pair of studded shades with no makeup on her face.

Future dad Reynolds, 37, guided his pregnant wife along the street for their walk as she hooked her arm through his. The Bedford, N.Y. residents were staying in the quaint and scenic upstate New York town for a romantic getaway, a source told Us Weekly.

Lively was slightly more covered up for the outing, compared to the form-fitting Sam & Lavi skirt and blouse that she wore in her baby announcement. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress used her pregnancy news as an opportunity to celebrate "all the expecting mothers out there," and "that special moment at the creation of family." Lively added that her lifestyle website, in the month of October, "will be sprinkled with highlights for women in this exciting chapter of their lives." See Blake's sweet baby announcement.

The bubbly blonde told Marie Claire in its September 2014 issue that she and her husband were anticipating parenthood soon. "I gotta get started," the star said. "If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would."

Lively has no new upcoming projects on the horizon, after filming her upcoming romantic drama, The Age of Adaline, this past spring. Meanwhile, her hubby has three movies set for release next year.

"She's a planner," one source told Us. Added another insider: "She wanted to get her work in solid shape before taking time off to have a family."

For more exclusive details on Lively's pregnancy, who she told, and her cravings, pick up the new issue of Us Weekly!

Quote:
Gerry's gambling addiction has gotten way out of hand. He's already lost everything in his quest for winning, so now he's thousands of dollars in debt to nearly everybody he knows. Continually losing doesn't stop him hitting the casino, but when he meets casual poker player Curtis - who unlike Gerry doesn't let a desire for the win take over his life - he forms an unlikely bond and finds that his luck is beginning to turn, but not necessarily in the money stakes. The pair team up in order to go for the big bucks on New Orleans' legendary poker scene, and Curtis soon finds that Gerry needs something big to pull him out of the rut that is his life. He's got to learn that there's more to life than winning, but is he willing to take a gamble on the advice of his mysterious new friend?

Ryan Reynolds On How He And Blake Lively Are Coping At Parenthood Without A Nanny | Contactmusic.com

Quote:
He also spoke about how he had to cut a close friend out of his life for trying to sell pictures of his daughter James to media outlets.

First time father Ryan Reynolds has been talking about how surprised he is that he and his wife Blake Lively have been dealing with parenthood without the help of a nanny. In a new interview with GQ magazine, the Self/Less star has spoken about his “weirdly endless supply of patience” at night-time baby duties.

It’s been nine months since he and his wife welcomed their daughter James into the world, but the gruelling regime of night-time feedings hasn’t gotten the better of him yet. “I have no problem waking up five times in the middle of the night and changing diapers, and as exhausted as you get, I have this stupid grin on my face all the time,” he said.

As proud as he is of his achievements so far, he’s staying conscious of the fact that not everybody wants to hear about his daughter’s every single accomplishment - we all know parents like that. “I don’t fall victim to it, because, especially celebrities, when they talk about their kid, they talk about their kid like they’re the Chosen One, or they’re the only people who have ever had a child.”

As far as role models go, Reynolds has hinted in the past that his relationship with his own father isn’t always the best. However, he’s used the examples of his older brothers to follow. “I look at each of my older brothers, and they’re all fathers, and they’re all great fathers. So I had some good examples,” the 38 year old explained.

“But I don’t think you really necessarily need examples. You just try to not be a complete pile of ******* and just be there for them.” Reynolds continued in self-deprecating fashion. However, he seems to be relishing every moment of it. “I like it: I mean that in the heaviest context. I genuinely like it. I like being a father. I like having a daughter. I would like to have more kids. It seems to suit me pretty well.”

There are no pictures of baby James out in the public realm at the moment, and that’s because Ryan and Blake have deliberately kept control of their private lives. However, Reynolds also reveals that he’s had to cut off one of his closest friends after he discovered that he’d been trying to cash in by selling pictures of their daughter to paparazzi.

“A guy that I’d known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around,” he explains. “I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks… …It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out. I don’t think he thought he would ever be caught.”
Ryan Reynolds Tells GQ Fatherhood Is All About Trying Not To Be A 'Complete Pile Of S–t' — And He Reveals A Former Friend Tried To Sell Pics Of Baby James! | PerezHilton.com

Quote:
Ryan Reynolds became a dad eight months ago when he and Blake Lively welcomed their little girl James into the world.1

But the Hollywood hottie slash famous father admits he wasn't really ready for his daddy duties, no matter how much he prepped for parenting

"The one piece of advice I would say is: Don't listen to any advice. Because there's nothing you can do to prepare for it."

The actor admits that he's responding to fatherhood much better than anticipated, explaining:

"I'm surprised how patient I am with it. I feel like I could sometimes have a bit of a short fuse, but there's just been this weirdly endless supply of patience … I have no problem waking up five times in the middle of the night and changing diapers, and as exhausted as you get, I have this stupid grin on my face all the time. And that's not because I have a nanny or something like that. It's just us right now, and I love it.

Ryan also reveals that he didn't have the best relationship with his own father, but that actually helped shape his approach towards raising baby James, saying:

"You just try to not be a complete pile of s–t and just be there for them. You know, I like it: I mean that in the heaviest context. I genuinely lik it. I like being a father. I like having a daughter. I would like to have more kids. You know, it seems to suit me pretty well."

Finally, the most bombshell part of the babe's interview was when he recalled ending a friendship with a life-long buddy after he attempted to shop pics of baby James around:

"He had been shopping pictures of my baby around. I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks … It was like death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out … I mean, I don't think he thought he would ever be caught. But it's a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to. They're just, like, my closest family and my closest friends: ‘Here's us in the delivery room!' "

The actor finished up by having a strong worded convo with the former bestie of 25 years — and he hasn't spoken to him since.

We <3 that Ryan went full poppa bear to protect his family! Don't mess with the Reynolds crew.

He's an A+ dad!

Actor Ryan Reynolds Has Cut Ties With An Old Friend After Discovering He Had Been Trying To Sell Photos Of His Baby Daughter To The Press.

The new dad welcomed his first child, James, with his wife Blake Lively in December (14), but the couple did not even share the little girl's name until it had already leaked to the media.

The stars have so far managed to keep their tot out of the spotlight, but their privacy was almost violated by one of Reynolds' own pals.

Comparing the shock betrayal to a "death", he tells GQ.com, "Somebody I've known, who's been one of my closest friends for 25 years (tried to sell photos of James).

"It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out. (We had a) pretty strongly-worded conversation. (He just did it) for money. I mean, I don't think he thought he would ever be caught. But it's a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to. Ryan Reynolds has admitted he was left ''devastated'' when his close friend tried to sell pictures of his baby.

Ryan Reynolds' close friend tried to sell pictures of his baby.

The 'Deadpool' star - who welcomed daughter James with wife Blake Lively nine months ago - was ''devastated'' to find out that one of his pal's he'd known his entire life was going behind his back.

He said: ''A guy that I'd known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around.

''I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks... It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out.''

And the 38-year-old actor insists he hasn't spoke to the friend again since the ''shocking'' incident.

When asked why he thinks his former friend did it, he said: ''Just for money. I mean, I don't think he thought he would ever be caught. But it's a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to.

''They're just, like, my closest family and my closest friends: 'Here's us in the delivery room!'... It was, like, so kind of shocking. There isn't really a conversation to have. It's just, 'Oh, well, now I'm never going to see you or talk to you again, unfortunately.' That's kind of how it worked out.''

Despite the betrayal, Ryan isn't letting it ruin fatherhood for him, with the star admitting he always has a ''stupid grin'' on his face.

He told the October issue of GQ magazine: ''I have no problem waking up five times in the middle of the night and changing diapers, and as exhausted as you get, I have this stupid grin on my face all the time. And that's not because I have a nanny or something like that. It's just us right now, and I love it.''

That goofy grin on Ryan Reynolds‘ face isn’t going away anytime soon.

It’s been nine months since he and wife Blake Lively welcomed daughter James, but the novelty of sleepless nights and diaper duty have not worn off for the first-time father.

“I have no problem waking up five times in the middle of the night and changing diapers, and as exhausted as you get, I have this stupid grin on my face all the time,” Reynolds, 38, says in the October issue of GQ magazine.

His “weirdly endless supply of patience” — the most surprising thing for the man who “could sometimes have a bit of a short fuse” — isn’t even a result of hired help to take care of the couple’s daughter.

“[It’s] not because I have a nanny or something like that. It’s just us right now, and I love it,” Reynolds, who kept his baby monitor on hand during the interview at his home, adds.

His effortless ease into parenthood has been a balance of both nature and nurture for Reynolds, who, despite having a difficult relationship with his own father, is proud of his accomplishments so far.

“I look at each of my older brothers, and they’re all fathers, and they’re all great fathers. So I had some good examples,” the Deadpool star explains. “But I don’t think you really necessarily need examples. You just try to not be a complete pile of s— and just be there for them.”

Reynolds continues, “I like it: I mean that in the heaviest context. I genuinely like it. I like being a father. I like having a daughter. I would like to have more kids. It seems to suit me pretty well.”

Despite his love for his most important role ever, Reynolds is reluctant to rave about all of his daughter’s day-to-day doings — at least outside of the home.

“I find it to be really obnoxious. In fact, every time I talk about my kid in public, I’m generally talking about how average she is,” he shares. “But at home, I’m like, ‘You’re a genius! Oh, my God! You just took a s— in your diaper that came out as a perfect musical note!’ ”

He adds, “I don’t f—ing fall victim to it, because, especially celebrities, when they talk about their kid, they talk about their kid like they’re the Chosen One, or they’re the only people who have ever had a child.”

That’s not to say Reynolds doesn’t completely understand the unconditional love that comes with having a baby. The actor admits he views his parents in a whole new light since the arrival of his first child.

“Once you have a kid, you just think, like, ‘I can’t believe that another person did all this s— for me, that I’m doing for this person right now!’ Like, that somebody woke up in the middle of the night this many times just to wipe my ass,” he says.

“It’s just profound to me. So you start to have a great deal more respect for your own parents. Not that I didn’t already. But I don’t know how my parents did it with four kids. Four boys! Who basically did everything short of setting their own home on fire every single day of their lives. It’s gotta be pretty intense.”

However not all relationships have changed for the better. While paparazzi were busy clamoring for the first photo of James, Reynolds’ childhood friend of 25 years was also trying to get in on the monetary prize.

“A guy that I’d known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around,” he explains. “I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks.”

Reynolds confronted him and the two had a “pretty strongly worded conversation” about his actions before the actor completely cut him out of his life.

“It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out,” he recalls. “I don’t think he thought he would ever be caught. But it’s a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to. They’re just, like, my closest family and my closest friends: ‘Here’s us in the delivery room!’ ”

Months later, the initial craze surrounding their family of three has finally died down.

“The whole thing becomes so absurd that all you can do is laugh about it and just go, ‘This isn’t the real world. This isn’t how real things work,’ ” he says. “But it happens to be happening right now. And it will pass. And it does. It passes. It all passed.”

"A guy that I’d known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around," revealed the Deadpool star, 38, who shares 9-month-old James with his wife, Blake Lively. "I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks."

Reynolds noted that the culprit was someone he'd known for most of his life. "Somebody I grew up with, yeah. Somebody I’ve known, who’s been one of my closest friends, for 25 years," he elaborated. "It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out."

After he and his wife discovered the betrayal, the star confronted his now-ex pal.
"It was a pretty strongly worded conversation," Reynolds said. "[He did it] just for money. I mean, I don’t think he thought he would ever be caught. But it’s a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to. They’re just, like, my closest family and my closest friends: ‘Here’s us in the delivery room!'"

Reynolds said he had to ultimately cut the person off. "It was, like, so kind of shocking," he told GQ. "There isn’t really a conversation to have. It’s just, ‘Oh, well, now I’m never going to see you or talk to you again, unfortunately.’ That’s kind of how it worked out."

New Father Ryan Reynolds Has Been Left Scarred After Having To Stick A Thermometer Up His Sick Daughter's Butt To Take Her Temperature.

The Green Lantern star reveals baby James kept the actor and his wife, Blake Lively, up all night on Sunday (20Sep15) as she struggled with a fever, and the new parents had to call on their paediatrician for help.

Reynolds admits he and his wife were left mortified after being instructed to prod the child's bum.

During an appearance on U.S. morning show Live with Kelly and Michael on Monday (21Sep15), Reynolds explained, "She didn't sleep last night, first fever... How I found out was that I needed to check her temperature through the rectum, which for me was just so traumatising.

"I was like, 'No, it can't be! There's a mouth, there's an armpit, there's got to be something'. The doctor was like, 'No, no, no, just have one of you guys distract her and then do it, she'll be fine...'

"You can't distract her from that! I warmed it (thermometer) up and everything... And so I did that. It was terrifying though. It all went well though, I didn't lose it, it came back out. You just can't help but think that this is gonna leave a lasting mark...! They've gotta come up with a better system, seriously."

Despite the overnight trauma, Reynolds insists he has no problem with fulfilling his duties as a dad and the responsibilities have helped ease his own temper tantrums.

He tells GQ.com, "I'm surprised how patient I am with it. I feel like I could sometimes have a bit of a short fuse, but there's just been this weirdly endless supply of patience. I have no problem waking up five times in the middle of the night and changing diapers, and as exhausted as you get, I have this stupid grin on my face all the time. And that's not because I have a nanny or something like that. It's just us right now, and I love it."

Ryans Reynolds Talks Fantastic Four Failure, Says Deadpool Is Coming Along At Right Time | Comicbook.com

Quote:
A feature interview with GQ has Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds expressing concern for the cast of Fantastic Four.

Reynolds spoke a bit about the negative impact the poorly received film may have on stars like Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan.

“But I’m more frustrated about the Michael B. Jordan aspect than Miles Teller. You know, Miles Teller’s gonna recover. Miles Teller’s gonna go on to do amazing things, you know. It’s important that Michael B. Jordan continues to go on and do amazing things.”

“I know it’s not easy for a black actor. It’s not easy for a female actor. It’s not easy for a lot of people that are... That entire cast is amazingly talented. And I wouldn’t wish that on anybody. I mean, I know what that feels like. It doesn’t feel good. And it also is difficult, because you don’t feel like you can control that outcome. You know, as much as you want to. You can’t really.”

Even considering the perceived superhero fatigue at the box office and the failure of Fantastic Four, Reynolds feels like Deadpool is coming along at just the right moment, targeting the kinds of fans who seen it all from superheroes with a bit of the meta.

“It’s a genre. There are good horror movies and bad horror movies. There are good comedies and bad comedies. Think of it like that. Think of it less about just superheroes. I do believe that they explore similar archetypes a lot, so I think that notion can be somewhat fatiguing, maybe. I think one of the reasons that Deadpool has gained a lot of momentum isn’t just that it’s funny or isn’t just that it’s rated R. The meta aspect is very important. So I think Deadpool’s coming along at the right time, because it’s also speaking to that generation and that group of people that have seen them all, seen all these comic-book films and enjoyed them all to varying degrees of success. But I think it’s speaking to them as though the guy in that red suit is one of them, to some degree.”

Reading what Ryan says about fatherhood
and the way he talks about his family is really
heartwarming. Blake and Jaymes are very lucky
indeed.
Can't believe someone he had known for years and
considered a friend would do that...sad. If he'd just
asked Ryan for some money, Ryan probably would've
just given it to him.

Ryan was on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night.
He was awesome-promoting Mississippi Grind. He and Jimmy
were hitting each other with giant hands.

Ryan Reynolds’ Close Friend Betrayed Him By Selling His Daughter’s Baby Pictures | Contactmusic.com

Quote:
Ryan Reynolds was forced to have a “strongly worded” conversation with one of his childhood friends after he discovered he was trying to sell his daughter’s baby pictures.

Ryan Reynolds became a father in December of last year. With broken sleep, it’s a difficult time physically for any new parent but Reynolds also had to contend with an emotional blow when he discovered his childhood friend was trying to make a quick buck by shopping pictures of his new-born daughter to media outlets.

Reynolds managed to intervene before the pictures were released but, speaking in an interview with GQ, Reynolds described the emotional impact his unnamed friend’s actions had on him.

“A guy that I’d known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around,” Reynolds explained. “I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks.”

Reynolds was also asked if he had ever been betrayed before and he explained he hadn’t, which is why his friend’s betrayal was so hurtful.

“It was like a death,” Reynolds said. “It was like one of those devastating things to find out.”

Reynolds, when learning of the photographs being shopping around, was able to work out who the culprit was as there was only a “narrow group of people” he sends family photographs to.

“I mean, I don’t think he thought he would ever be caught,” Reynolds continued. “But it’s a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to. They’re just, like, my closest family and my closest friends: ‘Here’s us in the delivery room!’”

38-year-old Deadpool actor further explained how he had had a “strongly worded” conversation with his friend about the pictures. Unfortunately, it appears the damage to their friendship was already done and Reynolds described the exchange he and his former friend had.

“There isn’t really a conversation to have,” Reynolds explained. “It’s just, ‘Oh, well, now I’m never going to see you or talk to you again, unfortunately.’ That’s kind of how it worked out.”

It appears Reynolds’ friend was only interested in the money he could gain from the photographs and, at one time, his friendship with Reynolds.

“Well, I think he’d asked for a check enough times where I was like, ‘There’s no more checks to be had.’” Reynolds said when asked if he had offered his friend the offer of financial support.

Reynolds’ daughter, James, with Age of Adaline actor Blake Lively was born in December 2014. The couple have attempted to keep their child out of the public eye and the interview with GQ was the first time Reynolds has opened up about fatherhood. Neither Reynolds nor Lively have yet to share a picture of James’ face on social media, although she is pictured with them.

Ryan Reynolds' daughter calls him ''Mama''.

The 'Deadpool' actor - who has a nine-month-old daughter James with 28-year-old wife Blake Lively - joked he had to sit the tot down and explain the difference between men and women to her.

During an appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', he revealed: ''She's saying 'Mama'. What my wife doesn't know is (James) calls me 'Mama' too. Seriously. I literally had to sit her down and tell her that penises don't work that way. She understands - she gets it.''

Ryan also insisted that he is no longer cool since becoming a dad.

The 38-year-old actor said: ''I've definitely lost all cool. I'm the dad guy now.''

Ryan recently revealed that he was devastated when he discovered one of his friends he'd known his entire life had tried to sell pictures of his baby.

He told GQ magazine: ''A guy that I'd known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around.

''I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks... It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out.''
Ryan Reynolds Shares About Baby James' First Fever, Her First Words - Us Weekly

Ryan Reynolds Hilariously Shares Too Much About Baby James' First Fever and Her First Words

Ryan Reynolds hilariously shared way too much information with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan about his baby daughter, James' first fever.

Dad life! Ryan Reynolds hilariously stopped by Live! With Kelly and Michael and The Tonight Show on Monday, Sept. 21, where he updated the hosts about his baby daughter, James.

"She's good," Reynolds, 38, told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan of his 9-month-old tot. "She didn't sleep last night... first fever." The crowd let out a sympathetic sigh, and Reynolds replied, "Awww, it's normal! It's fine."

The Deadpool star then launched into a story about how he discovered that his daughter was sick. "I was told to check her temperature... through the rectum, which for me it was like... 'Noooo, it can't be. There's a mouth! There's an armpit. There's gotta be something!'"

Reynolds said the doctor told him and his famous wife, Blake Lively, to team up and for one parent to distract James while the other checks her temperature. Ripa, who has three young kids of her own, then chimed in about the ordeal of checking up on her kids.

"No matter how many hand puppets you put up there, they're always like, 'What's that?!'" she joked, while the audience roared in response.

"It was terrifying, though. It all went well, though," he added, before launching into thoughts about walking his baby girl down the aisle in the future. "And she'll go, 'I know what you did.'"

Later, Reynolds dished more details about his little one to Jimmy Fallon, and the two bonded over their baby girls.

"She’s saying 'mama,'" Reynolds said about James. "What my wife doesn’t realize is [the baby] calls me ‘Mama’ too. Seriously. I literally had to sit her down and tell her that penises don’t work that way. She understands... she gets it."

While Reynolds' interviews with Ripa and Strahan, as well as Fallon, were lighthearted and funny, the actor told a significantly darker tale about his little girl in his October 2015 cover story for GQ. The star revealed that he recently had to cut off one of his closest friends for attempting to sell photos of James, whose face has never-before-been-revealed by her A-list parents.

"A guy that I’d known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around," Reynolds shared. "Somebody I grew up with, yeah. Somebody I’ve known, who’s been one of my closest friends, for 25 years... It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out."

Ryan Reynolds Attempts to Build an IKEA Baby Crib, Hilariously Fails - Us Weekly

Quote:
Ryan Reynolds is just like Us! For GQ's October 2015 cover story, the Deadpool actor and dad to 9-month-old baby James shot a video, in which he attempted to build the Hensvik crib from IKEA... and miserably failed.

The clip begins with the new dad, 38, unloading the contents from the box. "Easy," he proudly notes. Moments later, Reynolds is on the phone with IKEA expressing some confusion about the pieces and parts.

"This didn't come assembled," he says, as B-roll shows Blake Lively's hunky husband rummaging through the unreasonable pile of screws and paperwork. "Just an enormous amount of hardware that's come with this unit, and I've gotta be honest with you: I'm having a real hard time putting this thing together."

After Reynolds manages to assemble the crib's headboard and sides — which later fall apart — he's seen opening a bottle of wine in frustration. "What's Swedish for 'F--- you'?" he says. "Besides a slow descent into alcoholism, I'm just really having trouble finding all the screws."

He then discovers a foolproof method for assembling the crib.

Reynolds' clearly lackluster building skills weren't the actor's only revelation from his most recent time with GQ. The actor also opened up about a dark time involving one of his lifelong pals.

"A guy that I’d known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around," Reynolds revealed to the mag. "Somebody I grew up with, yeah. Somebody I’ve known, who’s been one of my closest friends, for 25 years... It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out."

Watch him try to put the crib together above.
