Yes that train scene. That's the moment I fell really hard for those two. You can see how much Mary has changed, she's 'softer' around Matthew. And Matthew was also trying really hard not to crack in that scene because obviously he still cares for Mary a lot.

Yeah Matthew was off to war so there's a possibility he might die. And when he went missing (with William), I think I remember Mary kind of breaking down with worry and it wasn't until next day when Matthew just appeared while Mary was singing a song to the injured soldiers at Downton.
