He is pretty great yes, though in the pilot I thought he was a bit weird

Just saw the S2 finale of The Killing.
I honestly thought the whole Rosie killer went on a bit too long... I hope the 3rd season and the case there will move faster!

He's on House of Cards! :eek: I never was able to follow up on that show and I think I stopped early S3.. but it's interesting to see him on it..

I am close to the finale of the Killing S3.
I think for the most part he's doing a far better job then Mireille Enos (don't kill me :lol:)

I just finished watching The Killing a couple of weeks ago, and I gotta say Joel Kinnaman was the freakin’ bomb as Detective Stephen Holder.
Mireille was pretty darn good as Linden, but Joel K. just killed it as Holder. He used everything in his acting arsenal to bring to life this character –facial expression, voice intonation, body language, etc.
On a side note, I knew nothing about the actor prior to watching The Killing, so as I was binge watching, I had absolutely no clue that in RL this dude was an Adooooooooniiiiiiiiiiiiiiisss. :melt:

I think Joel is the best part of The Killing
I am actually not that impressed with Mireille anymore at this point (early s4)
and she's part of the reason I'm not enjoying the end of S3/early s4 not anymore

Joel is the reason my boyfriend and I kept watching because he lights up the screen on this show and makes you want to continue to watch
though we're not sure if we'll continue with S4.

I am curious to see what else we'll see of him! He's a pleasant surprise on this show (having not seen him on something before) WEll I have seen the robocop film though I don't remember him.

Yes, I finished watching the series, and then I watched it again. :lol: Imo, S4 was rough on both characters, and I wasn’t all that interested in the particular case they were working on.
What was it about Mireille that caused you guys to lose interest? Was it Mireille or Linden? Linden had major issues, for sure.

I watched Suicide Squad after the Killing. He was good in it, but he didn’t have a lot of chemistry with Cara D, so those scenes felt a bit awkward to me.

It was more so that we didn't feel Mireille's acting... It felt a little lost for us... More of the same all the time...
Hard to explain :lol: like she's not making progress at all as well in terms of her character.
Holder on the other hand seems to make that progress :)

Ah, I see. The Killing is the only acting I’ve seen from Mireille; I have no other works to compare.
For me I felt like Holder started to digress (at least later in the series), so I didn't enjoy the character as much during the show's final season. There were some highlights, thankfully.
Well, did you finish watching the series after all? Or did you guys just go ahead and give up on it altogether?
I did enjoy the last several minutes of the series –although there were a few fans that didn’t seem to like where the show left off.
