John Travolta #1 B/C we'd eat at Denny's in the middle of the night with him anytime

I've never done a thread start before but here I go anyhow!

John Traveolta is one of my favorite all-time actors! he's been nominated for two Academy Awards, one for Pulp Fiction and the other for Saturday Night Fever. He's also worked on 8 films which have crossed the 100 million dollar mark.

My current favorite of his is A Love Song for Bobby Long

Who else loves him?

The General's Daughter is an awesome movie!

Brenner: So what happened to the guy with the gun?
Sunhill: I married him.
Brenner: Well, I'm happy for you. I wish a long life of happiness for both of you.
Sunhill: I filed for divorce.
Brenner: Good.

You wouldn't happen to know how to edit the opening post so I can give this thread a title, would you?

I think you just click "edit message" in the first post and you'll be able to add a title. If not, PM me or Mel (DreamWalker) and we'll edit it with the title you want.

I've seen The General's Daughter many times thanks to cable, and I never get tired.

Yes, you can edit the thread. Go to the opening post and click on Edit message, then click Advanced Edit

Thank you so much, it was the advanced edit button that I didn't have down!

I love his whole bubble bath or bath salts or whatever speech he gives the psychiatrist chick in the movie. Dang it, what was it...

You're welcome. I'm looking forward to learning the title you chose.

I also loved him in Pulp Fiction with Samuel Jackson.

ETA: Unfortunately, I can't recall the dialog right now.

The title comes from his trivia/bio at imdb:

"He frequently eats at Denny's in the middle of the night. Which is where he ate through the movie Lucky Numbers (2000)."

It's not one of his greatest but the trivia from the movie certainly works for the title regardless of how much it's not his greatest...

Vincent
: And you know what they call a... a... a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?
Jules: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with cheese?
Vincent: No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn't know what the fck a Quarter Pounder is.
Jules: Then what do they call it?
Vincent: They call it a Royale with cheese.
Jules: A Royale with cheese. What do they call a Big Mac?
Vincent: Well, a Big Mac's a Big Mac, but they call it le Big-Mac.
Jules: Le Big-Mac. Ha ha ha ha. What do they call a Whopper?
Vincent: I dunno, I didn't go into Burger King.

Pulp Fiction however, is a classic

I'm gonna go to bed...

Why am I so excited that you've got a dvd copy of A Love Song For Bobby Long? I have a thing for that movie and I hope the whole world will get a chance to love it one day I guess. Maybe I just have a thing for fifty yr. old alcoholic guys who sit around in ladies underwear talking Socrates SCARLETT-WEB.NET - Last additions/ls1

Bobby Long: Now just exactly who is Plato and who is Socrates in this equation? Cause fck, I'll just stay out.
Lawson Pines: You are Socrates, of course. You are the teacher.

^ I'm laughing hysterically just typing this Is it really that funny?

I get you! The whole atmosphere of the movie is great. It's laid back, but the academic scenes are fun because they're coming from such an unlikely place. It's pretty cool. I'd totally live like that!

Hehe, that is pretty funny. Travolta gets a bunch of awesome lines as Bobby Long! I love his relationship with Lawson, too.
