[Veiled Vesta]

Hello. Well, as we all know the series finale has come and gone and I've been thinking about what will happen to this board.

First of all, I've been watching the post counts get lower and lower over the past few months, even back when we had new episodes for conversation fodder. I don't blame anyone at all, it's just one of those things that happens when a show declines in viewers. Anyway, I had discussed with my former co-mod the idea of closing down this board before we get shut down for low post counts (I'm afraid we've already recently gotten a warning before about low post counts). I feel it may be best to leave on a good note rather than drag on until we get closed permanently for lack of posts.

However, I don't want to close this place down before getting input from my wonderful regular posters. You guys are what make this board so amazing. This was the first board I posted on when I first stumbled onto Fanforum and it's my first moderator job ever. I'd miss this place just as much as you all but I've noticed that the threads that get posted on the most seem to be the shipper and game threads (and the ship threads can be moved to the relationship board while actual show discussion and all things related could be carried on at the television board.)

If you gals (and occasional guy) do feel strongly about keeping the Ugly Betty board open, it will likely be moved to the TV Shows: Past section. And you'll be posting under the guidance of a new moderator.

I'll take this post to briefly say that I'll be stepping down as moderator soon (this is my last major decision) because though I loved this show terribly, I haven't been giving the board the attention it deserves and that's not fair.

So what do you all think? Should this board close down or should it stay open? (No matter what the majority chooses I'll still be stepping down as mod.)

It's official. This board will be closing on Sunday, May 30th. I want to thank all of you who stuck around and posted on this board. Those who contributed great observations, beautiful artwork, and diverse understanding. I invite everyone to come say your final words and bid this board a fond farewell. We can only hope to continue the fun and sweetness on a smaller, cozier area over on the TV Shows board.

Come say goodbye if you've ever posted or even if you've never posted. And remember: we are all attractive, intelligent, and confident posters!

I think that we should do what's best *shrugs* seeing as the post counts have gone down we should just let it go on a good note like You said *nods head* the shipper threads can go to the Couples and the other stuff on the Television thread (as you previously stated) I think it might be easier that way for everyone.

This board was the first reason I joined and it's always hard to say goodbye but I share your opinion Hestia, let's leave on a good note, I think it's better that way

i'm not sure what i feel, i'm the type of person who watch's every show out there i'm very picky.
maybe it will be right to drag out for a couple more months just to be sure everyone are over the show being well over. i think most of us still mourn the loss (i know I am).
also the last season hasn't yet aired outside the US (as far as i know) there's still a chance people from other countries will stop by once it starts airing.

I think the two most important questions are:
how different are the rules in a past shows forum to those we have now?
and will we still be able to post messages?

I don't want this board to close and I'm sorry I haven't been here very much lately. But since the post count has been so low lately, closing before it gets shut down might not be such a bad idea

Man, I can't believe it. It'll be sad, but I agree with closing the board. The last post was on the 9th so it's only a matter of time unfortunately.

Though it's not as many as I had hoped, the majority seems to be to close down the board and now it appears we've gotten a serious warning about people not posting here for a few days at a time so if that doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what does.

I've just given the order to close down the board and I am expecting a reply from Jerry soon. Now we play the waiting game...

Hestia - I'm sure that it was difficult for you to post this thread to find out what others thought about the future of this board. I'm always sorry to see a board close, but totally understand that it's hard to keep things going when the interest just isn't here. As you said, it's nicer to go out on a high note. Thanks for the leadership you've shown here.

I wish I had come on here. I adored this show and the characters and cast. Sad to see this board close but at least it's going out with love and around the time the show ended.

I've lurked the board for a bit now and I have to say the posters and mod are wonderful and great job keeping the Betty love alive.

I have temp modded this board when it started and I was so happy with the few friends I've met here. It's sad to see it be closed down now, but I do understand the decision. It must've been hard for everyone here.
