Oh, you mean when Smith was replaced by Kaepernick? Look how that turned out. Kaepernick had two good seasons and then the 49ers tanked and became the worst team in the NFC until Kyle Shanahan arrived.

I think the 49ers are running out of backups, though.

Well, we'll see. Trey Lance is the guy they traded up to get in the draft, and Garoppolo is the guy who took them to a Super Bowl and an NFC Championship Game, but if Purdy keeps playing the way he's playing, it's gonna be interesting to see who they decide to start in the future. I guess it depends on how deep Purdy takes them.

The last three 49ers QBs to go to the Super Bowl? No. You're forgetting Garoppolo. He was also in the Super Bowl. So Young, Kaepernick, and Garoppolo are the last three. Montana makes four.

I'm not a fan of this season honestly with QBs getting hurt and / or QBs playing poorly especially Brady and Rogers
