I miss when TV was good.

Make Them Laugh 11-04-2022 04:37 PM

same...but Christmas movies are still good

PhoenixRising 11-04-2022 05:02 PM

They are.

Smallville is making me depressed. I wish I'd watched the show when it was on. :( Now it's a remnant of when TV was still good. There aren't shows like that around anymore. The Arrowverse started off good, but became a terrible mess. I liked seeing Tom and Erica appear in the Arrowverse Crisis crossover, but I didn't like that Clark and Lois had retired to the Kent farm. It seemed like the betrayal of everything that had happened in the Smallville series. I couldn't believe he'd give up his powers.

Make Them Laugh 11-04-2022 05:05 PM

that was bad writing saying smallville's Clark gave up his Powers... and you know that Luthor was President Elect in 2017.... unless he was jailed forever or killed shortly after his Presidency

don't forget smallville had other heroes that you already know about without me telling you

PhoenixRising 11-04-2022 06:10 PM

Yeah, I heard something about Lex's political career, and it's not like the animated movies didn't already cover that.

Yes, I know, but there are some things only Superman can do. Even with the entire Justice League around, Clark wouldn't just quit. :( Not until the world didn't need superheroes anymore.

That's the thing about superheroes. They never grow old, even the normal human ones. They stay alive in print forever, so they'll always be on screen forever.

What concerns me is that by the 2030s, characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Captain America will go into public domain, and then by the 2050s, almost every character created by DC and Marvel will go into public domain. I'm worried about what will happen to the characters and stories after that.

Make Them Laugh 11-04-2022 06:13 PM

rant...yea...dc and marvel stories go even crazier as the years go by...with too many reboots and tv series

Well, once characters and stories enter public domain, no one has a copyright anymore. Any studio can do anything they want with them, just like with classic novels and stories published before the 1920s. Usually, it takes around 91 years to 120 years, depending on the material. By the 2050s, all of DC and Marvel's titles will be a free for all.

i'm not even thinking of 2050....
