Mini Biography (from imdb)
Benny Ciaramello was born to a young Italian mother in the spring of 1981. His childhood journey took him back and forth between the old neighborhood of Providence, Rhode Island to sections of Philadelphia where he excelled in poetics and all things literature. He moved 18 times in 17 years growing up. At 18 years old he quit high school and set out selling knock off perfume on the street. This lasted only a brief time until he joined the Navy. After about 2 months in the Navy he performed his first acting role. He claimed he had ADD and couldn't function without Ritalin. Convincing enough, the Navy issued Ciaramello an ELS (entry level separation), and he was free to go home. His journey then took him to California where he and a cousin traveled to Hollywood, took a star map and went gallivanting through the hills. When he found Steven Spielberg's home he climbed the tree outside the gate to get a good view and was asked to leave the premises by a speaker in the tree. He left California to search for a relationship with his father after that, but to no avail. Two years later after a year of junior college and selling electronics for some Vietnamese businessman, he returned to Los Angeles for good. That's when Destiny took over. Within a few months in town, he found himself in the office of Untitled Entertainment and in the next breath, auditioning for some of the biggest films in Hollywood. It was only a year in Tinsletown when he found himself crossing paths with Spielberg once more. This time however, the young Benjamin wasn't climbing trees with a star map. Instead, the newly sprouted thespian was cast in the blockbuster remake of War of the Worlds, finding himself shaking hands with the legendary filmmaker as opposed to being kicked off his property 3 years prior.

Benny Ciaramello was trained at The Black Nexus Theater as well as The Stephanie Fury Theater in Los Angeles, California. His acting career began with a cameo appearance in the cult film "Saint Francis" followed by a leading role playing the character Totti in Pedro Varela's acclaimed play "Ectasy", the follow up work of "Trainspotting" author Irvin Welsh . Varela, the legendary director of the original "Trainspotting" play in Europe and close friend of Welsh, took Ciaramello on as one of only 2 students. Ciaramello's time at the "John Raitt" theater became a classical apprenticeship in the Method where he spent countless nights with the famous European thespian learning all of his tricks and spells. He was also guided in classical Alexander Technique under Paul Gleason during the same time at the " John Raitt." After this experience he went on to work with Steven Spielberg in a one line part in the studio giant " War of the Worlds", followed by His Role of Orlando in " The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down." His consistent success led to a staring role opposite Isablella Rosselinni in " Filthy Gorgeous" produced by Academy Award Winners Neil Meron and Craig Zadan and written by Academy Award Nominee Ron Nyswaner. In Filthy Gorgeous Ciaramello played a hi-class bisexual escort from New York who sold Crystal Meth in what became a very controversial dark comedy....as the year continued he executed his craft and stretched the bounds of his method and after booking a small role in "The Guardian," all of his hard work payed off when he was cast as " Tony Jakubiak" the leading role in the highly emotional Drama entitled "The Fall." In "The Fall," Ciaramello displays a range and character of such intense magnitude that there is no question he is a serious leading man of dramatic films. He has currently accepted the offer to play James Payne in the film entitled " A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Maniac" directed by Tim Riel, the nationally acclaimed theater giant known for his psychotropic cult hit " Timothy and Charlie" which was based on the chance meeting of Timothy Leary and Charles Manson in Folsom Prison on acid. In his role as James Payne, Ciaramello will play a fictional underground rock legend who losses himself in the cold streets of New York through acid, sex, and rock and roll. You can be sure that you will be hearing much more from this talented actor as he continues to delve deeper and deeper into his craft while rising in the face of Hollywood Stardom.

Santiago needs his own thread. I'm really liking him. Thought he was great in the scene with Tami when he says his uncle has been gone for 10 or 11 months.

Santiago is an awesome addition to the show.Though he has obvious flaws(juvie, etc.), it is also pretty obvious that he his trying to improve his life.I'm happy that Buddy finally did a decent thing and take in Santiago.

CreekFreak 11-16-2007 08:26 PM

He seriously made me CRY. His first real bed. *tear*

london grammar 11-16-2007 08:28 PM

I really like Santiago! He seems like a guy with layers.

Enigma 11-16-2007 08:32 PM

I agree..............he's a great addition to the cast. Tonight made me flove him.

And he seriously made me cry when he said it was the first real bed he ever had.

I can't wait to see more of him!

london grammar 11-16-2007 08:35 PM

Is he going to be a regular? Or just a guest star? I don't like how they started his thing with Lyla.....3 episodes ago and have not touched on it since! :(

Enigma 11-16-2007 08:39 PM

I'm not sure. I'm guessing yes though.

And yep, weird we didn't see him and Lyla interact at all in these past couple of eps.

london grammar 11-16-2007 10:16 PM

I hope so. I guess he is supposed to replace Tim for the time being.

It's such a shame. I liked Lyla around him...

Enigma 11-17-2007 12:02 AM

Well depending on the strike situation, I'm sure we'll see them interact again.

blonde bombshell 11-17-2007 12:26 AM

I really am liking Santiago a lot. I think they've done a great job at easing his storyline into the show. Can't wait to see more of him. :)

daritah 11-17-2007 07:30 AM

Oh, I'm liking Santiago so much. I was on the verge of tears when he said that was his first real bed!! So sad.

Lily_ 11-17-2007 10:48 AM

I loved him last night. Can't wait to see more of him.

Anyone know anything about the letters that he hid under his pillow? Can't think of anything. Could it be his Uncle writing to him from jail or am I way off?

Enigma 11-17-2007 11:36 AM

I thought maybe his parents who were deported.

Let me know if you want to be added to the list.

kayrey 11-17-2007 12:50 PM

Add me please. I'm really liking him, I don't think I would mind if he became a regular and I'm usually oppposed to adding new cast members.
