Friday Night Lights - Save Our Show Campaign Thread 2009 - The Show is Saved For 2 More Seasons - Thanks Everyone!

The ratings on NBC (especially this past 3.02 episode) have not been what they were previous seasons, despite season 3 being a return to season 1 greatness!

We need your help. It’s going to take the die hard fans spreading the word and doing what they can to get this show a season 4. These next few weeks are going to be critical for NBC, numbers-wise, in determining if there is a new season. DirecTV has indicated that they would be interested in helping with a season 4, now it’s NBCs decision, and we fans need to help them out!

To help boost the motivation, we’re going to have a giveaway; once a week for the next 4 weeks some lucky fan in the US or Canada will win a brand new season 1 or season 2 “Friday Night Lights” DVD set. Already have the seasons on DVD? You can use these to recruit more fans.

What do you need to do to be eligible for the drawing? Complete 5 (or more) of the items on the following list PER WEEK and post here with what you’ve completed. PLEASE enter the contest at the official Facebook page: Save FNL - Win Free Stuff! According to the resident Facebook expert (coughcoughChristicoughcough), you don't need a facebook account to enter. You can ask questions in this thread and post the things that you complete from the list, but to enter the DVD giveaway, go to the above link. THANKS!

Pick 5 things from this list:

- Write a letter to both heads of NBC and DirecTV and snail mail it
- Loan out your DVDs to a friend/Recommend FNL to a friend/family member
- Watch FNL on either Hulu.com or NBC.com (no need to actually watch, just have it play all the way through on your computer so they can see the numbers)
- Watch FNL on Friday night LIVE and DVR or TIVO it
- Post a blog, livejournal, facebook post about FNL (link us)
- Post a comment on the web in reply to an article written about FNL
- Write an FNL review and post it at Amazon.com, NBC.com, etc.

The week will go from Saturday to Friday night, so to be included in that week’s drawing, please post the list of which 5 of these items you completed by Friday night 11:59 EST. If you live out of the country, we’d still love for you to join us with helping to recruit via the internet, but unfortunately the giveaway is only available to those from the US and Canada (because of the DVD region thing).

So please... don't sit back and think there's nothing you can do or wait for others to save this show... We. Need. You!

Whitney will change the OP when she's around, but in the meantime, I just want to let you guys know that while we'd love to hear what you completed here on this thread, that to officially enter the contest you should go to the Facebook page to enter and be eligible. We hope lots of you will take part.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post this here or PM somebody but I'm going to post it here anyway and let me know if I need to do anything else.

My 5 things:

1. I have recommended FNL to at least 3 of my friends and gotten 2 to commit to watch it.

2. I have watched all the seasons of FNL on nbc.com and a couple episodes on hulu.com.
3. I watched FNL this past week live, I would TIVO it if I had one. Sorry.

4. I've signed up for 2 different Save FNL groups on Facebook.
5. I posted a comment on a review of FNL on ew.com.

I forgot to post here that the winner of last week's DVD drawing was Derick! Yay Derick! He got a free brand-spanking-new season 1 "Friday Night Lights" set!
