What Inspires You?
 

Lately, I've been inspired by my dreams! Hehe. I woke up the other day and in my dream I was in a band and I was singing this song called "The New Yorker" (not the mag :lol: ) and since I don't know how to write music, I made it into a poem before I forgot the lyrics. This has been happening often as of late.

Also, when I was young I was inspired by anything so I always had a notebook and pen with me so when something hit me, I wouldn't "lose it" before I wrote it down.

Lately, I've been inspired to write really sad poems and dribbles. I guess it's the fact that I'm getting older and I'm always nostalgic. Life seems to be more real now than it was when I was a teenager.

I get inspired a lot by music. Sometimes the lyrics of the song find their way into my ideas for a story, sometimes the song makes it into the story itself. I'd say that music is probably what inspires me the most.

I've also been writing RPF, so real events inspire me, too.

Recently I was at a friend's house, and I saw a picture they had up, and that inspired me for a whole series, totally not anything I would ever have thought of before. Now I just need to write it, amongst all the other WIPs I have :lol:

I was watching a show this afternoon, and now I have a crossover fic idea to add to the list! :eek:

Dreams. Music. Random things people say, it'll start forming into a story in my head just from one line without even realizing it. Alot of the stuff i write started from just having one line being stuck in my head and me wanting to write something where someone says that. Wether it be funny, or something mean or just something just odd. It's weird, but that's how most of my inspiration comes about.

Random sentances which pop into my head, a small idea or feeling or saying and i usually expand from there.

I get inspired by a lot of things around me. By something people say, or something I read about, certain music....

Most of the time my inspiration comes from music... a few words can help me form a whole fic in my mind... then it comes the difficult thing. Write it down on paper :lol:

Sometimes i get inspired by real life. One of my fics was the story word by word of the failed love of my best friend... i only changed names...

I get almost all my inspiration from TV Shows, Music and Movies. But most of the ideas I get is when I walk the dog :P Completely random I know but I don't have anything other to do so I think and talk to myself. It's a great tip for everyone!

I think that's it. I usually don't rush my inspiration, when I'm in the mood - I'm in the mood. That's why I mostly just write One Shots :nod:

Music definitely is what most inpires me :nod: I'll listen to a song that will remind me of a particular character or couple and the lyrics will give me a plot idea and I'll go from there :)

I don't write fics (maybe I'll do someday) but I daydream a lot and there are many things that inspires me. Music, other TV shows (couples scenes) and even other fics :nod:

When I wrote Gilmore Girls fanfiction, I was usually inspired by what was left off - the things that seemed to happen off-screen. Sometimes I was inspired by what I wished had happened rather than what did.

I think my inspiration is random. Listening to music or looking at a picture doesn't normally work for me :shrug: I think my inspiration has to come from someplace totally unexpected. I was once in a department store and then went home and wrote about two people being stuck in a department store :lol: I can't just sit down and force myself to work, it has to just pop out of nowhere.

I absolutely love it, and I love the video for it as well. It's one of the things that inspired me.

Actually I was thinking about opening a new thread, where we post three music videos of different fandoms and then we write stories about them... Would anyone be interested in that?

I have to agree with a lot of you, music inspires me the most. :nod: I also find sometimes a single line from a TV show can sometimes inspire a fic, usually for an entirely different fandom.
