There used to be an admin rule that fanfic threads should belong on the fanfic board only, but as some of you may be aware, this rule has been revised in light of more and more fanfic threads popping up on individual boards.

The reasons for this relatively new occurence are many. One of them is that the fanfic board does not allow direct posting of fics. If this is what keeps you from posting at the fanfic board, please check out the rule reform thread and vote for the proposed changes. This is an opportunity for interested authors to have another place to publicise their works.

If the vote goes through, you will be able to post sections of your stories on the fanfic board, while you can continue to post links and discuss Tarzan fanfic on this thread. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

I have applied my writing skills to a rather lengthy fan fiction piece. Over a two and a half day period, I cranked out a 35 page (hand written) story. I'm working on typing it. It's a little on the racy side, but would fall solidly between pg-13 and R, and it would have been able to air, were it an episode. Any ideas about hosting sites for fan fiction that would be easy for me to use? It's not just a scene, I constructed my own episode, which accounts for the length. I'd really like it to get read, but I've never done a fan fiction before.

I would recommend ibelongwithyou.com, maybe you can send them an e-mail. they have very cool fanfiction there and it's a pretty famous tarzan site [img]smilies/redface.gif[/img]

Oooh Ne-fehr-ious, I'm intrigued already! ..lol.. And I agree with MgA, your best option would be to e-mail the webmistress of WI (madmartigan@ibelongwithyou.com) and submit the fic there. I could recommend putting it up at fanfiction.net but then you'd have to go through the hassle of setting up an account and figuring out what, admittedly, is a tricky system to navigate the first time through. Anyway I hope that works out for you and that it gets put up soon! [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Thank you both for the suggestion. I'm not a reader of fan fiction often, so I don't know if what I've written is like anyone else's vision. I just hope it feels as much like a "lost and found" episode to everyone else. If nothing else, I've aired my dirty little mind out, and my reputation will never be the same. I will set to finishing the typing -I started earlier tonight, but I was 10 pages in, and it had taken several hours. Dialog takes a lot of keystrokes! I will diligently work at it. My brain would have exploded had I tried to keep this in.

FF.Net is an easy to use site as well I think. You'd have to do more hands on work uploading it and such, but it'd make your fic out to a broader audience as well who might not know of WI.

We hope to develop this new feature, and to make the fanfic board another valid place for publicizing your Tarzan fics. We also have an original fiction thread if that's your thing.
