Here's just a random ditty I thought up. I think I'll call it Southern Comfort.
Protection from the stifling messages that rise, untranslated, from within A sudden movement Two hours of waiting for a Hello that might not come at all Misery lies in the thinking (not the feeling) And bewilderment blossoms from too much reading between the lines Heh. That pretty much sums up what I'm feeling now. Back to studying for exams. __________________

Aly Kat, don't worry about it. It wasn't your fault. All you did was provide the information. I will definitely keep writing, but I don't usually write poetry.
High 304, Great poems! If you have any more, please don't hesitate to share them with us! Silversun, thanks for the comliment about my sig. I love that line, and someone told me there was no way I would actually use it as my sig. I just had to prove them wrong. Also, about Southern Comfort... I really like it! It isn't as dark as some of the things that were posted on the other poems that have been posted here. __________________

Nicky, I love that! Especially the that rise, untranslated, from within line.

High 304 and SilverSun, great poems. They were all very good. High, I easpecially liked your second one, although I enjoyed both of them. It is also good to read stuff a little less depressing

I call this one 'Pigeon-Mom':
When I grow up (As soon as I become an adult) When I go to college of some sort or attend some university (of some sort) I will go and leave by train The train will plan my being for existing here on this earth While I am gallant on this train, my life will hover on the small form of a baby boy My baby will be mine Our vulnerability will show across each other's mouths in each sappy peck we use "My boy will stand tall.. and let the arms go free+wild I want My Boy to be a poet... I will sustain his every dynamic need I will give him robes of useful/good/nurturing aplenty and me a bottle of stale ginger to accomadate I will give him enough to asunder his entire focused plea meanwhile, I will have the lone closet, in the boring room with enough triple meager outfits that cost and fit me the same look(like sun twin rays) or the same price I am the Pigeon-Mom And My Boy is the Song of Prodigy He will be brought upon And I will grow older, Long live the king! |

Some lyrics from one of my bands (which is sadly defunct). This is from Live by Bliss 66:
Got my feet on the ground. Ain't it funny that you're not around? Got my head in the clouds. I can feel it, I'm coming down. I remember the way we were, I remember every word. When I think about what might have been, I can see we're not living then. Would it be alright, If I could live again? Would you even care, If I said it's over? Would it be alright, If I could live again, Live again? __________________

dark noon - Lovely poem.
I remember reading an Alice/Dodgson (they guy who wrote Alice in Wonderland) story in the library and feeling sick to my stomach. That was several years ago. I just thought of this. I have always been fascinated with Alice in Wonderland, especially since I did a school report on Dodgson in high school. off with his head i think of alice young large eyes set in her face the photographs that slipped out of my hands spraying onto the floor like cards the sound of them was like death dry and fussy when we sat in the boat, her parasol was like a shield against me the simple white cotton frock would have burned my fingers had i touched the soft fabric the cakes we ate tasted like dust in my mouth my mouth was dry when i asked to take her picture she posed in a pink dress her hands soft and pressing against one another behind the camera i watched her without need to check my glance she smiled at the camera not at me the smile of a young girl who cares not for anything save for sweets and the gentle rocking of the boat as it drifts down the river her eyes were full of wonder when i told her of the other alice the alice with the golden hair and how she followed the white rabbit and escaped the red queen 'you're nothing but a pack of cards' her sisters would laugh they begged for more drawings spun out beneath my ink pen detailing this other alice she had a pure unclouded brow her mouth would slip into a smile 'tell us another story' sometimes i let them watch the photographs develop their young faces at first ghostly in the pictures the smell of chemicals in the air alice, her laugh spun its way through my mind sharp the photographs slipped out of my hands i shall not soon return the stories cease to be told and i grow old and the laughter has ceased i remember the touch of her small fingers on my face as she asked for another story and i despair the red queen has given me my sentence 'off with his head!' Wow. That was very, very good. I loved the vivid imagery and the detail and the joining of two separate things. That was amazingly well-written. I liked it very, very much. Reminded me of a song.
