Hollywood star Daniel Radcliffe is on the Gold Coast filming his new movie Jungleand booked himself in for a private spray session at Chevron Island.

The 26-year-old was keeping a low profile as he walked into Chevron Island Tan and checked into the tanning studio which is usually shut on Sundays.

Radcliffe was almost unrecognisable with a scruffy beard and heavy rings under his eyes as he emerged from a Jeep and straight into the salon on Thomas Drive about 9am.

He had security guarding the premises while he bronzed up.

A man claiming to be the owner of Chevron Island Tan declined to comment on his special guest.

Jungle is filming at various locations across the southeast and at Movie World’s Village Roadshow studios.

The film tells the true story of Israeli-born adventurer Yossi Ghinsberg as he journeys into the Amazon jungle with two friends and a guide with a mysterious past.

Their journey, in 1981, became a terrifying psychological ordeal and fight for survival as the darkest elements of human nature and the deadliest threats of the wilderness emerged to test their endurance.

Filming is scheduled to start on the Coast this week and is the latest major production to be made here in the past two years.

It follows top titles such as San Andreas, Pirates of the Caribbean V: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Kong: Skull *Island.
