I saw The Man who invented Christmas the other day. It reminded me of Dan in this film. The little boy who played Charles Dickens was essentially David Copperfield.

It was. Christopher Plumber’s Scrooge is brilliant. Perfect casting. I don’t know how accurate it was but apparently A Christmas Carol was written before David Copperfield and it was based on his own childhood. The name Copperfield was taken by a friendly police officer who Dickens met one day. That might be total bollocks though, I have no idea.
