Supernatural Origins (comics) #2 - Every great story has to start somewhere
Welcome to the Supernatural Origins Thread Supernatural Origins is a six issue limited series prequel comic book to the WB/CW American Television series Supernatural. It is published by Wildstorm, a company under the DC Comics umbrella. The series explains how John Winchester raises his children, Sam and Dean, to become "Hunters" of spirits and demons. The comic is written by series producer Peter Johnson and drawn by Matthew Dow Smith, although the first issue features a backup story by famed DC writer Geoff Johns, with art by Phil Hester. ^ taken from Wikipedia Issue One - Issue Two - Issue Three - Issue Four - Issue Five - Issue Six - __________________

Yeah, that'll be great if they make a new cover for the 6-issue package

Right now the image that is being used for the solicitation is the cover to issue 2. But they have not released whether or not that will be the actual cover.
Although I feel I must defend Tim Sale, cover artist for issue 2, he is one of the best artists working in comics today and has gotten a great deal of acclaim. Plus he does the paintings for Heroes. __________________

But that cover? Not his best work... As a consept it is a perfect description, no argument there. But the art itslef? Not so great and that in the end doesn't do the SPN universe any justice. Which is weird because I had looked up his stuff when it first leaked he was doing it, and I do love the paintings in Heroes, so I was expecting something wonderful. However this one particulary is not that good. And Hey! By all means it happens. If you're good it doesn't mean you'll hit a home run everytime. And just because you failed once (or maybe even more times) doesn't by no means, translate to you not beeing good. |

^ I have to agree. Tim Sale's stuff is awesome, I really love the artwork he's done for Heroes. But the cover for Issue #2 isn't the best one, I don't think But I can see why it's been (provisionally) picked for the 6 issue package for now, it's the one cover that covers (oh how I hate the English language sometimes ) the subject matter of the series best.

If I had to bet I would say that it probably won't be the actually cover for the TPB, it's probably just being used a place holder for retailers right now. that happens a lot.

Yeah, but I do hope it's just a placeholder as of now, but I do have to admit it is the cover that represents the series more though
I do like Tim Sale's works, but I don't think cover#2 was one of his best works __________________

As I said I totally understand why it's the one they would use for promotion and place holder until they deside what to use finaly (it is the best to describe the series after all), so no problems there.... ETA Just a wee bit thingy I came across... Infinite Comics __________________
