10x11: "There's No Place Like Home" Episode Discussion Thread
"There's No Place Like Home" ”January 27, 2015, The CW “Sam (Jared Padalecki) is scanning the internet for suspicious paranormal activity and comes across a video of Charlie (guest star Felicia Day) beating up a district attorney. Dean (Jensen Ackles) suspects she’s back from Oz and hunting on her own, assuming the district attorney must have been a demon. When they do find Charlie, they are shocked when she tells them why she really came back from Oz. __________________

Happy to see Charlie back! She’s one of my faves! Evil Charlie? Dean is ready to get rid of the mark! That video of Charlie! Crazy! Sam/Dean in suits! Dean pretty much almost attacking that guy! Charlie attacking the people that killed her family…wow! Charlie wanting to kill the council lady! 2 Charlies? what? War? Her darkness came out? Now that is a crazy twist! I just feel so bad for Charlie! The finance guy was mean to Dean! Dark Charlie is there! Omg he stabbed him…crazy!! Dark Charlie stole Baby! Sam calling Charlie his friend…cute! She shot him…insanity! No Charlie!! Yay! She’s back!! Sam holding her…oh this is so sad! Dean hugging Charlie! Cute! I will miss Charlie! This episode was pure perfection! I loved it so much!!

I enjoyed this episode even though some of it was a little cheesy, but I can't help but LOVE Charlie/Felicia Day The relationship she has with the boys is unique and so glad they still haven't killed her off. Also enjoy she's a bit of a kick a** woman on the show. But we got to learn more about her & who killed her parents.
Poor Dean... but i couldn't help but laugh as he tried to eat healthy (egg white omelet & kale ) & be all zen like. And no booze No way!!! But he's trying I did enjoy the parallels between how Charlie was feeling and what Dean has been dealing with. He knows it's so wrong, but he can't help but enjoy it once the mark gets going. Even when he's beating on a "friend" No Cas, though spoken on the phone to twice They are all working on getting the Mark off. Then there's Sam... *sigh* He got to do what he does best... RESEARCH! I'm sorry, but it's just too sexy seeing him sitting at the desk doing his thing. (and of course it incites some naughty thoughts for the fic I'm working on ) And he and Charlie teaming up was awesome bonding time But at the end when the Wizard knocks Sam back & "ties" him up & he's helpless to help Charlie... really? A damsel again? Come on, enough is a enough. Okay, I get that Charlie needed to be the one to save herself, but at Sam's expense? But then I guess they are just emphasizing that Sam's always been the nerd/researcher & Dean the brute *sigh* Next week is de-aged Dean episode. Should be interesting. __________________

This episode was soso for me!!! Some of it was cheesy!!! I wonder how they will of ever rid of the MOC from Dean and it funny trying to see Dean healthy and not drink. It was cool seeing Charlie. Still confused about her doppleganger being named Celeste wth?
Yes Chris why does Sam always have to be the damsel in distress!! Could that madness stop already please!!! I agree Sam is the nerd and Dean is the brute but its like down water down their brains writers for other characters to look smart! I hope next week is good with teen Dean and Sam! __________________

So, yeah, this episode was okay. Evil Charlie was actually kinda, sorta cool. Before I found out it was the ole 'Literal Split Personality' trope, I was impressed that Charlie found Vengeance Mountain! Chaaarlie! (reference old Youtube meme? Check. ) Also, I got some good responses last week on my pro-vengeance stance but this episode reinforces that. Not gonna lie, when Charlie killed that business guy who murdered her parents, I cheered. Vigilante justice: if it's good enough for Batman, it's good enough for me. When Charlie (or Celeste Middleton as it's now revealed) first appeared, I was all, "Wow, the Wicked Witch gave Charlie a wicked haircut and some wicked fighting lessons?" But then the other Charlie came and all I was thinking is that I don't remember evil twins being part of the Oz folklore. Also, splitting a person in half shouldn't give one half more coordination and fighting skills... right? Hmm. It makes more sense to me that she was actually Potential Violet from 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' (since she's also played by Felicia Day). Also, it gives me an excuse to watch some old Buffy episodes. (Another palate cleanser! Woo! ) On a sidenote, is it just me or are they showing Dean eating more often this season? I can't complain much since it's usually good for some amusement. And he was fine interacting with Evil Charlie. I understand why the writers made that weird storyline for Charlie's return. Who else would help draw the necessary dark parallels and the temptation for Dean to go darkside? (If anyone answers Crowley, I suggest you re-watch the last episode he was in. ) In the end... I don't know, I didn't really like it. Maybe if I hated Charlie more, I would've laughed at her tiny redheaded butt getting kicked but this damn episode actually made me sort of sympathize with her a bit (and I do like Felicia as an actress). But most of all, his pummeling gave me weird flashbacks to when he pummeled Soulless Sam and I hated that. I was actually pissed at Dean. Didn't help Charlie had a little cast similar to Sam's from the beginning of the season (curse you writers for making me connect Charlie to my dear Sammy!) Suffice to say, I was cursing Dean the guilt of a thousand... aaaand I didn't even have to finish the curse. Sorry Dan fans but Dean/Guilt are my OTP. Meanwhile, Teen Dean in the next episode?? Do mine eyes deceive me or are the writers really looking to fanfics for ideas once again!? I was joking before but now, I demand they look at some fics I've bookmarked with a whole lot of shirtlessness, hugging, and shirtless hugging! I CAN ONLY EXPRESS MY FEELINGS FOR THE NEXT EPISODE IN CAPS!!! __________________

I hope the Teen episode is good and not a silly filler and moves the plot forward.

I have mixed feelings about this episode, and it was also both a bit dragging and emotionally heavy at times.
The writers ruining another relationship, this time it's Dean and Charlie, *sigh*, I liked their brothe/ sister-like relationship that's what I thought too when I saw next week's preview, is this a fanfic plot?! __________________

The episode was OK. I liked seeing Charlie again, but I do agree that 'bitches' line tends to annoy me as well. Otherwise, I like the character
Also, I must agree that I don't see how splitting a person in two would make him/her more powerful ? I get the good vs bad side, but more power ? I didn't like the bad Charlie, she was a little too bitchy for my taste and I don't like evil people, and as a good Charlie told, being too good is kinda boring I'm happy she's whole again, alive and back from Oz. I hope we'll get some good moments with her in the future. And her way to look at that waitress made me smile, I was acting exactly the same before I met my husband, hitting on every pretty girl I saw I wonder how they'll get rid of the MoC ? Maybe Dean's Colette is Sam ? Wiiiiiinceeeeeeest Anyway, it was funny to see Dean trying the healthy style (yes, I definitely married a Dean, that's exactly how Adrien reacts to the 'rabbit food' ). And it was good to see some brotherly love moments as well Quote:

I think Sam is Dean's Colette too Kat! I also agree with your theory too Chris with Dean and the MOC. I wanna know how they are gonna get rid of the MOC for good too.

They have established early one that Dean likes his food ... burgers, pie & booze his fav I so knew They pointed out that Dean not eating at the end of S9 was a big thing, so now he's eating more than he has before, so I think it's part of the MoC story arc
