Yeah, right now is what is called the "primary" elections, where the two major political parties choose their candidates. The general election is later this year. Most political ads are just really nasty these days, and nearly everyone gets sick of it.

The Jitterbug -- “Wizard of Oz” Cast
This was from a musical number that wound up being cut from the film. The Wicked Witch sent an insect that attacked Dorothy and her friends, forcing them to dance the jitterbug, so as to tire them out. It was supposed to be right before the poppy-field scene. There was a line of dialog left in the movie where the Wicked Witch makes a reference to the attack with the insect, which now makes no sense due to that scene having been cut. __________________

Back in the 1960s, the CBS television network here used to show it early in December every year, as a sort of kickoff to the Christmas season. They had to pay MGM, the film studio, $225,000 in royalties per showing, in 1960 dollars. For decades, that was the only time it could be seen. We only had a black-and-white television. In 1967, I think it was, my great-uncle and great-aunt bought a color TV, and we went to their house to watch it. I remember being confused by the beginning of the movie -- "I thought this movie was in color!". (The Kansas scenes, which begin and end the movie, were shot in black and white. The rest of the movie is in glorious Technicolor.)
