I'm embarrassed to say I kinda love her. [img]smilies/lol.gif[/img] [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] Most people don't know about her less mainstream work though - what's you favourite song? Mine would probably be between "Last Night a DJ Saved my Life", "Fantasy" and "Underneath the Stars".

Ooh, I've enjoyed her music since her first album. I think she's got a fabulous voice - one of the best female vocalists, really. My favorite song of hers is off the Butterfly album, "Breakdown".

I agree that she has a fabulous voice, and I'm more of a fan of her earlier stuff actually. Isn't she the most successful female recording artist or something? I believe she scored a number 1 song with every single year starting from 1990 with Vision Of Love to 2001 with Loverboy.

I don't think I can choose, but I'll rattle off some of my faves: Dreamlover, Emotions, Someday, Hero, Without You, Love Takes Time, Underneath The Stars, Vision Of Love, Fantasy. She has done some great duets/collaborations too - When You Believe with Whitney, One Sweet Day with Boys 2 Men, Sweetheart with JD and one of my very favourites, her version of I'll Be There with Troy Lorenz. I loved her duet with Luther Vandross as well. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

What is everyone's favourite album of hers? Mine would be Merry Christmas (All I Want For Christmas is one of my favourite songs of hers too) and #1's. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

It has to be Music Box. But I love Daydream and Mariah Carey - I love all of them, from her first to Rainbow, and I like some of the songs on later albums. I wish she'd get back to the 90's Mariah. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

i love mariah since the first time i bought one of her albums - around the time she released heartbreaker
the first album i bought was the #1's album!! so this is my favourite!!!
and my favourite song for the moment is "i still believe" !!! love it!!

No, I do like some of the songs on later albums, but I don't love them. As i said, one of my favourite songs is "Last night a DJ Saved my Life", which is a Glitter song. It's just that generally I don't find them as appealing as the earlier ones. Although I had forgotten The Remixes, which I do love. [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

One thing I like is the fact that, way before Beyonce and Ashanti, Mariah was collaborating and doing the featuring way before anyone else.

One thing I would like to mention is a song called "Everything fades Away", which I don't think was on the American album. It is one of Mariah's best songs ever. If you go on Amazon, and look at reviews someone even gave it 11 out of 10. [img]smilies/lol.gif[/img]

What annoys me is that a lot of people say she is stupid.

What great lyrics huh? And the whole of Butterfly and Looking In are examples of Mariah's lyrical ability.

I think the collaboration with J.Lo is a nice idea, and will get loads of media attention - the two biggest 'divas' working together. I don't think J.Lo would be able to compete though, and Mariah would have to downplay her vocals...

Personally, I think Jennifer Lopez can put out some decent singles - like "Waiting For Tonight". Her 'best' work really being her remix album. BUT, she's no serious vocalist so IA that a duet (or whatever) might find Mariah restraining her vocals. Either way, I think they could possibly create a cool R&B/HipHop track together ...
