:bump: Bringing this up.

If I recall correctly we were discussing Dr. Goodman and him caring for his staff before FF went down.

I thought about Goodman's statement "Mr. Addy needs to grow up" today. While I hope that Zach stays on the show, I have to agree with Goodman. Zach said it himself - when he finishes his studies, Tempe will get a new assistant. It's obvious that he likes to work for Tempe and is comfortable in this position. Once he's done, he'll need to find another job and move on. Dr. Goodman is pushing him because Zach needs to find his way and get some experience working on his own - without the back-up and input he's receiving from Brennan.

Goodman cares for his people but he also knows when to push them. Am I making sense here? :look:

Yup, making perfect sense. :)

I see Goodman as the father who wants to help his children. He wants to be there when he's needed, but at the same time, he wants them to learn how to fly. Which is exactly how he sees Zack. He knows Zack is brilliant, but he also knows Zack's afraid that he won't succeed on his own. He can't walk in Brennan's shadow forever. Been there, done that with my family. :) It's a hard lesson, but he has to learn it.

Now, am *I* making sense here? :)

Francie, you're making perfect sense . Zach needs to get on his own feet so to speak.

Goodman did something similar with Angela when he gave her the speach why she's needed at the Jeffersonian and why her work is so important.

Starfield_Scribe 04-23-2006 06:16 AM

Yeah, those are all reasons why I love this guy :D

And there's something kinda funny with how he gets excited about stuff in his work :)

Nad 07-04-2006 04:53 AM

When FF was down last night, I watched "The girl in the fridge" again :)

I noticed something that I never registered before. After Tempe was on the stand for the first time, she's sitting in her office at the Jeffersonian trying to prepare her statement for the next day. Dr. Goodman stops by and they talk a bit about Dr. Stires. Among other things he tells her "...and if he tries to convince you otherwise - tell him to go to hell."

Which Tempe does the next day, I knew that she told Stires to go to hell but never made to connection to her talk with . It seems he's really good at giving his people pep talks :D

Nad - Cool connection. Thanks for sharing. :)

I like Dr Goodman.

He's tough but fair and he does care about his staff. Maybe we'll learn more about him in season 2.

Nad 07-10-2006 04:38 AM

Mary, ITA, it would be nice to see more of Goodman next season . He's just adding something to the show, whether he's giving his people a pep talk or gets totally excited about some stuff he's examining.
