Rachel McAdams, Emma Stone & Bradley Cooper are currently set to star in the still untitled Cameron Crowe project. Production is expected to start in September/October 2013 in Hawaii. Deadline was the first to report Rachel's involvement. Emma and Bradley signed on to the movie before Rachel and are both the leads, while Rachel takes on a supporting role. The plot line is under wraps, but it's reportedly a re-write of Crowe's "Deep Tiki" script.

Time Line

July 30, 2012: Sony buys the untitled Cameron Crowe script with Emma Stone set to star (Source)
October 24, 2012: Bradley Cooper is in talks to join Emma Stone (Source)
March 25, 2013: Rachel, Bradley, Emma and Cameron Crowe were spotted in Boston, most likely to do pre-production work for the movie.
April 11, 2013: Rachel is in talks to join Emma and Bradley (Source)
June 13, 2013: Rachel confirms she signed on to the project to the media (Source).

Triva/Fun Facts

• This is the second time Rachel and Bradley work together, they both starred in "Wedding Crashers" in 2005.
• Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon were both attached to star, but left due to scheduling conflicts. Crowe then spent four years rewriting the script, making the characters younger.
• The movie is 'blessed' by Ellen Degeneres.

Interestingly, Rotten Tomatoes have updated the film's title to Volcano Romance, which was one of the previous working titles (along with Deep Tiki). The info on RT isn't always accurate, so this may not mean anything, but thought it was worthwhile mentioning.

Hopefully we'll get official word on the title (along with a trailer!) soon.

I assume "Colorworks" means they finished editing the movie? Does anyone know if they also do colorworks for the versions they test screen or only for the final movie? :)

If you look closer at the picture I think we also get a very blurry look at a frame/shot of Bradley and one of Emma. I think I also spot Danielle Russell but I'm not sure:

I was hoping the trailer would be attached to Sex Tape but unless we hear something by tomorrow, I guess that's not happening. I don't think Sony has another wide release until September and I don't want to wait that long!

Toronto Int'l Film Festival - (TIFF 2014) - Page 5

I'm kind of bumped out to read that :( But to put it into perspective: it was a test screening so those are meant to be see what works (and what not) and it's only coming from one source. Like with Bradley's other film: "Silver Linings Playbook". I remember reading that the test screenings didn't go particularly well but it was well received at TIFF. I believe the first slate of TIFF will be announced next week so I'm still hoping this one will be part of it :)

I've been a Cameron Crowe fan ever since I saw Almost Famous and I mean with a cast like this it's going to be difficult for me not to love it ;)

I agree with you, Lindsey! It IS going to be tough not to love for me too. And I agree as well that test screenings are tests for a reason. I dunno, I'm really looking forward to this one, and I genuinely feel like at this point most of the cast wouldn't sign on if it was bad.

well, we all knew what kind of risk we would be in when it gets released because cameron crowe has had a bunch of hits and misses the past several years... mostly misses. it'll still be good to see her promote on red carpets with bradley though! PLUS, it's a december 2014 release. can't go bad with that.
