the twist at the end of this one!! i wouldn't have guessed that, and now i'm scratching my head wondering what else could go wrong
|
i was thinking it could be him.. his vow of silence def seemed off
but yay cant wait for what this twist brings :yay: |
Only got to see half of this one-but the twist at the end was just :jaw_drop:
Very interesting! it! The guy playing Chindi is awesome! I know I've seen him in other things-need to look him up on imdb. this guy! |
oh my gosh. THAT was fantastic "im freaking out homey" :lmao:
that vow of silence of his was pretty inspired  im glad they intro'd the twist as quickly as they did... and didnt leave it hanging for 3/4s of the season. i think they are going to be able to play with this so nicely. some classic one liners in this ep, but "responds to long pauses" is one of my favs. :rotfl: |
janet had me laughing so hard at her different "modes" throughout the episode too. i'm curious to find out how jianyu found out about eleanor in the first place and i wonder how many more people slipped through the cracks. but i agree about introducing plot twists early! which is good because it's a shorter season
|
glad they got it out of the way quickly too..
her reactions to tahini gave her away.. hes thinking, yup totally how a normal average person's impression of her would be  even her name "congratulations, beautiful" |

I felt this episode was a bit of a letdown coming off "Pilot/Flying." It seems like the focus was to further the plot, and I love the idea of Eleanor not being the only one who doesn't belong. I just didn't laugh as much at this episode, and overall it felt a bit clunkier.
In general, I felt like Michael Schur's other hits didn't start off great: The Office and Parks and Rec, but then they hit their stride in their second seasons. I'm hoping "The Good Place" is no different. Much like his other shows, I am enjoying this season so far, but I'm not sure it has quite found it's identity yet. However, I am hopeful for where things might go. |

The weird thing is Michael isn't all that nice nor is he handling his job too well.
So another interesting twist there too. I'm a dog lover so that scene in the last ep, didn't go over too well with me. |
I think that's an excellent point.
Michael actually isn't nice a lot of the time... and when u factor in that he's essentially supposed to be perfect, that's odd. Things like destroying chidis life work... kicking dogs etc. it's a very interesting place that shur has created. And yes, I agree, parks found it's perfect tone and balance come season 2... and I think something similar will happen here with good place, or sooner :) Does anyone know what the ratings were like for Thursday's ep? |

Hmmm, that seems okay at this point.
Hopefully it can hold,or grow. I think it's worth mentioning that parks as great as it was, had a pretty niche audience at the end... and it stayed on air as long as it did because it was a critical darling that found its place and stride. So, at this point I think the good place is doing just fine. |
