Burlesque

Kristen Bell will star as Christina Aguilera's rival in "Burlesque," Screen Gems' musical drama being directed by Steve Antin.

"Burlesque" centers on the journey of an ambitious small-town girl (Aguilera) with a big-town voice who finds love and success in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club, reminiscent of the nightclub in Bob Fosse's "Cabaret." (Aguilera has guested in cabarets for the Pussycat Dolls.)

Bell will play Nikki, the loose-cannon lead dancer and main attraction at the club who spirals out of control when Aguilera's character suddenly gets the spotlight.

Already cast are Cher as the nightclub owner and Stanley Tucci as the man who helps turn Aguilera from bumpkin to bombshell.

Shooting begins Nov. 9 with a release aimed for Thanksgiving 2010.

I want a trailer for this so bad. I hope we get it this month. That's 5 months early, that's about right, right? Well it'll be 5 months at the end of this month.

Well we only just got You Again and this one comes out two months later... but hopefully :D they do usually come out around 5/6 months before.

Some info from Burlesque now that seems the promotion will start:

Website: Burlesque - Official Site includes International Release Dates

Seems could be a bit release worldwide, and with promotion starting so early maybe some film festivals round: San Sebastian Film Festival is in September, also Venice is in late August or early September, maybe others like Toronto in September..... who knows.

And seems Burlesque already won its first Awards, but not sure if it's an important award: Logo Awards enter ninth circle of stardom - Entertainment News, TV News, Media - Variety
