^ He did. He really did have to grow up faster than his classmates and friends. I wish TPTB had given him a less heartbreaking/crushing journey to travel.

^ I agree. I understand that TPTB wanted to show Shawn dealing with life's challenges, overcoming obstacles and becoming stronger as result of his experiences, but he didn't really need to go through so much.

I think one of the reasons I was drawn to him was because he went through so much. I felt like it was going to be beautiful reward when he came out the other side an even better character than he was.
