For me, the best part about the couple was that they were interracial, but it wasn't a big deal. I think it set a really good precedent for such couples on TV, being one of the first on a teenage sitcom.

I agree. Their relationship was more about Shawn needing someone like her, and it was never about race. Their relationship always felt natural and was interesting.

ITA, I loved that. She was black, and she would mention the fact that she was black and stuff, but she would never be like, "I can't believe I'm dating a white guy!" or anything like that and he'd never say anything like that about her. The fact that they DIDN'T mention it was way better than them mentioning it being like, "But I'm OK with that."

I loved that all of Shawn's friends knew how good they were together. Cory and Topanga were so supportive of them.
