^ Totally! It was obvious that Cory learned a lot about parenting and running a household by watching the way Alan and Amy handled their own household.

Yeah, it was no surprise that he was a really good father & husband after the example he had growing up

^ Exactly. I think the example that his parents set for him helped him through a lot of the tough moments that he and his own family faced. I think he thought about what his parents would do if they found themselves in a tough situation, and the answer came to him.
I just watched that scene! Eric saying that his aunt looked like a elephant -- wow, that was harsh. __________________

^ I'm sure he did. Eric told Alan that his aunt, who happened to be his sister, looked like an elephant. There was no way Alan didn't give him a talking-to later. It would have been fun if we had 'met' her. I would have loved to have seen just how much she (apparently) looked like an elephant. =p

^ Right? I feel like Eric's impression of his aunt looking like an elephant probably came from a childhood memory that Eric hadn't been able to forget. =p

It would be good if there was a story behind that

^ I was just thinking about that scene! I love it so much! There was a lot of truth in what Alan said to Cory, and Cory needed to hear it and, like Alan told him, to deal with his life.

It was important for Cory to hear. He had made that decision to get married, he needed to be an adult now. & it's not like he was homeless, they had a place to live, but because it wasn't up to the standard that Cory was used to, he thought that it wasn't good enough.
Alan did the right thing to stick to his guns there, even though I think it was really hard for him __________________

^ Yes to all! Cory was hit with the reality that life wasn't always going to go the way he expected, and that sometimes he was going to have to figure out how to find the light in the dark.
I agree. Cory had to learn that, while his parents were there to love and support him, they weren't going to be his magic wand that he could wave to make things better. He had to figure out how to solve his own problems. __________________

Yeah, & once they did say no to him, Cory did go & find out that he was actually quite capable. He made his place with Topanga a lot nicer, & that became their first home together
& I think he went back & thanked Alan, which was really important too __________________

^ That's so true! Alan refusing to help Cory was the right move. It got Cory to realize that it was on him to put in the time and effort to make a better living space for himself and Topanga. Things really weren't as bad as he thought they were. I'm glad he figured that out.
He did and it was! We got to see Cory figuring out that Alan had a good reason for not giving him an easy out. I loved that moment! __________________

^ I'm sure that would have happened. Their fight looked really bad. If Cory hadn't been able to shift his focus from being upset that Alan hadn't helped him instead of taking his words to heart, then I feel like it would have caused a bit of a fracture in their relationship. I'm so happy that didn't happen.
