I'm not sure if enough people post here now to do a survivor, we could try it though! Or just discuss the best moments here, & put in the moments that we know are the best/most relevant.

Lately I've been thinking about the purple jellybean. Rucas fans like to say that it meant that he picked Riley before they even went to the Ski Lodge.
It might not have been meant for Riley, it might have been meant for Maya but because Maya pushed him to Riley, he gave it to her.

In Rucas's case, IMO it is not romantic, not at all. I always thought how insulted I would be if I was Riley and Lucas gave me jellybean. To me it would symbolize how he had to resort to using a scale and jellybeans to decide on who to chooses and he chose me, not because I'm who he wanted but rather that I had a positive personality trait that tipped the scale. I get that she is young and naïve, and she doesn't see that is what it symbolizes for them.


If it was given to Maya, then there would be a romantic aspect to it, IMO. It would show that he chose Maya not because of what the scale's result was, but because she was the one he wanted to be with. Choosing her despite all the faults she believes she has, because he knows how beautiful she is both inside and out.

Lucas so obviously chose Maya at the end of Upstate, so there's no way that he kept a jellybean for Riley from when he had first weighed the jellybeans.

Plus, it's not exactly practical, is it? So he just had a loose jellybean in his pocket all that time? No way. Everything happened in Ski Lodge, Maya told Lucas to pick Riley, & someone had some jellybeans, so Lucas took a purple one to give to Riley, that's the only way it makes sense

You could tell by the look on Lucas’s face at the end of Upstate that he had chosen Maya. There was no way he would have been looking at her that way if he had not.

Exactly, everything about that scene screams that Lucas was gonna choose Maya... I bet it hurt him a lot more than he showed, & made him pretty nervous about picking her again.... whereas Riley was gonna be a sure thing

Riley was a sure thing for Lucas and probably the easier route, but I don’t think that is what Lucas really wanted.

Same, I think he just brought into the fairytale & he thought that if he picked Riley, everything would be simple & easy & things would just fall into place because it was what the 'universe' wanted or whatever. It wasn't actually about who Riley was & how he felt about her.... & with Maya it was the complete opposite.

it's been a while since Ive seen the episodes but i remember thinking this as well. I just remember thinking the show made it obvious.


I'd like to believe that R/L wouldn't have lasted and they would have realized they were so much better just as friends. And that they needed more "fire" and passion in their relationships.



I dont think we have enough people for a survivor either. So why dont we just put in our votes for what our top 25 scenes are?

If you guys could take a look at the OP and choose your 25 favorite moments that would help me out a lot. Maybe 7 or so from season 1 and 18 or so from season 2 since season 2 is much more romantic??? idk, this is so hard lol.

Part of me was prepared for Lucas to go back and forth for the whole series, but in the finale, I thought he would end up with Maya. It will always make me sad that we didn't get to see a proper relationship and endgame with them.

I will definitely do that by Sunday.
