^ Yes, it did. Topanga wasn't going to be able to forget that Cory hadn't been completely sure about their relationship, that he had had to go out with Lauren to figure out who he wanted to be with.

^ I understand that too. Even though it broke my heart that they broke up, it was obvious that they needed the time apart to figure out who they were as individual characters, and what they wanted as a couple.
I love that moment! Cory was so smooth when he told Topanga that his perfect dream woman wouldn't even come close to her. __________________
