Yeah, they should have got into that all a bit more imo. I mean, if she just wanted to be a cheerleader because that's what the popular girls are, & she wanted everyone to like her, then she needed to realise that & work on her insecurities.
If she actually really loved cheerleading, then she should worked on it all year round & not just the week of tryouts  __________________

^ I agree. I wish TPTB had expanded on that storyline. Judging by your post, it doesn't seem like TPTB gave a proper reason for why Riley was so set to be a cheerleader. I am forever going to wonder which of your thoughts was what TPTB intended with that storyline.

Considering that there wasn't a clear story in the episode, it didn't seem like such a big goal for her. I don't know why TPTB didn't make more of an effort to flesh the storyline out. Aw, I love that side of her!  __________________
