^ The timeline always confuses me. If Cory and Topanga were still in college when Riley was born, then Alan and Amy definitely made sure they were around to help them out.

^ When I did the math, I discovered that the timeline fits, but it kind of seems crazy that Riley was born a year-and-a-half after the Boy Meets World series finale. So much for Cory not getting Topanga pregnant until he was ready. I think Alan and Amy tried their best to take off as much pressure as they could so that Cory and Topanga could build their lives in New York while raising a daughter.

Yeah, something tells me that Riley wasn't planned

& they would have done, they were always there for Cory & Topanga, & I don't think that would have changed even with them in NY

^ You know what? Now that you mention it, that does sound right.

Oh, yes. Alan and Amy may have taken a tough love stance when Cory and Topanga went to them for help when they realized that being married wasn't a picnic, but I don't think they took on that stance when they found out that they were going to be grandparents. I think they probably rushed right over to help them out.

I'm sure they did too, it's one thing to force Cory & Topanga to be financially independent when they knew that they had the means to do it, something else completely helping them out with kids when they're working & going to college at the same time too

^ Exactly. Alan and Amy knew when to use tough love and when to offer a helping hand. Like you said, the situations were different. I definitely think that Cory and Topanga got the helping hand from Alan and Amy when they found out that they had a baby on the way. Alan and Amy saw that Cory and Topanga had to handle a lot of things at the same time, and they did what they could to ease some of the pressure.

For sure, plus they'd want to be close to their grandkids anyway, so it was a win/win for them

^ Yeah. It was definitely a win-win for them. Are you thinking that they moved in with Cory and Topanga during that time? That must have been a tight fit for everyone!

^ Yeah, it would have been tight, especially considering the possibility that Cory and Topanga probably had a one or two-bedroom place. I'm sure Cory and Topanga figured out a way for Alan and Amy to be there for them.

Yeah, I think that might have just got a little too stressful for everyone involved - still, I'm sure they found a way to make it all work

^ Naturally. When you have four people with different personalities looking at something and having their own take on it, there are bound to be some chaotic moments, maybe even some conflicts. I agree with you. They figured out a way to make it work, because that's what family does.

That is one of my favorite Alan/Amy moments.

Mine too, I love the trust shown there that she doesn't worry about him for a second - but then he gets offended by that

^ That's the best part of it! Alan should have been happy that Amy trusted him, but he was upset about it. Do you think the scene would have played out differently if the roles had been reversed, and Alan found something that belonged to a man in their bed and he asked Amy about it?
