^ Oh, yes. That's what made their relationship so fun to watch. They knew that their disagreements weren't so serious that they couldn't laugh about them and move on. I'm sure they learned that lesson early on in their relationship and marriage. :love_story: :hippie:

They must have done, because they seemed really stable by the time the show started

rocky845 05-31-2019 12:21 AM

^ Yes, that's true. From very early on, it was obvious that they were a solid pair. I loved that! I never thought for a moment that there would ever be any real trouble in their relationship. :love_story: :yay:

starryeyesxx 05-31-2019 11:14 AM

Me too, even when they fought, it was never actually worrying

rocky845 06-10-2019 11:21 PM

^ Oh, yes. I do wonder what the early weeks or months of their relationship was like. What were some of the obstacles and/or disagreements that they went through that bonded them together and solidified them as a couple? :goof: :hippie:

starryeyesxx 06-14-2019 09:03 AM

I'm not sure, I'm trying to think back if we ever heard anything about how they met or got together...

rocky845 06-20-2019 10:48 PM

^ The only part of their relationship I remember is the misunderstanding that happened on their anniversary where they agreed to meet at the restaurant where they got engaged, and it was revealed that Amy had gone to the wrong restaurant because Alan wasn't her first fiancé.  :thud:

starryeyesxx 06-22-2019 04:18 AM

Oh yeah, that was funny

I think that they were pretty young when they got married & started out with pretty much nothing from what they told Cory & Topanga in s7...

rocky845 06-29-2019 09:45 PM

^ It was! More often than not, we see that the guy has forgotten an important detail about his relationship. It's so fun when we see that the woman has forgotten that important detail about her relationship. :smirk:

That's the sense I got as well. Now that you mention that, it occurs to me now that they looked pretty young to have teenage kids when the show started. They must have had a lot of great moments as they adjusted to married life. :sailboat: =)

starryeyesxx 07-01-2019 07:31 AM

Yeah, I think they probably had some tough moments early on, but they had each other, so they made it through

rocky845 07-06-2019 11:09 PM

^ I've heard that the tough times are an important part of the first few years of married life. It's hard to imagine a time where things won't be so hard, but it definitely bonds a newlywed couple when they know that they have each other to turn to. :love_story: :flowers: Alan and Amy did tell Cory and Topanga how they cherished their first few months or their first year as a married couple, because they relied on each other to figure things out. :yay:

starryeyesxx 07-10-2019 06:21 AM

Yeah, & if they were married as young as Cory & Topanga, & had kids soon after, then they definitely would have ha some tough times to get through

Once you get past that, everything else would feel easy :sigh:

rocky845 07-12-2019 12:03 AM

^ Oh, for sure. That's why they stayed strong and refused to help Cory and Topanga when they came to them. They knew that Cory and Topanga needed to work together to get through the tough times, because that's what Alan and Amy did when they first got married. It was tough love, but it needed to be done.

I think so too. I think it probably took Alan and Amy some time to get into a good rhythm when it came to being newlyweds and then parents, but once they did, they managed things like champs.

starryeyesxx 07-13-2019 10:35 AM

Yeah, I think that when you marry that young & you suddenly have a family to provide for, those first years will be the hardest that you'll ever had to deal with

rocky845 07-14-2019 09:36 PM

^ Exactly. I think it took them some time to get the hang of things. I can't even imagine how hard it must have been for them to get to a good place. :thud:
