I thought it was a pretty well rounded episode. It felt in parts like the old Greys to me.
Good job Ellen! I don't disagree that Maggie can be obnoxious but she's frantic over her mom so its understandable. I thought the Nathan/Maggie scene was sweet. Too bad they don't go that route instead of the Meredith/Nathan one. The death was sad but jeez, it was just pounded into you this episode. |

Kelly McCreary and LaTanya Richardson Jackson were brilliant & Ellen was a wonderful director & actor at the same time. This reminded me of older grey's shows as far as patients and relationships. This was one of the best episodes of Grey's for me it belongs in the top 5 overall!! can't remember watching a episode were I needed so much tissues .
The episode grasps me from the first min I understand Maggie she was left in the dark for suchs a long time that her mother had cancer she wanted to make up for this lost time! Maggie has always lived in a happy world not long ago she told Mer she never have lost anything not even a pet I wonder what will happen to Maggie now after the lose of her mom. Mer showed she was a great sister to Maggie, she was there whenever Maggie needed her. I also loved when Richard sent for Kelly's dad it most have been hard for Webber to. The scene were Maggie's mom died I was sobbing so sad I loved the little side storyline between Bailey & Weber at the end. They finally made peace. They Always were suchs great friends it was time I have to I was on camp Webber!! This episode struck a personal nerve but it was really really well done!! Like Mer said "You're never ready. You just...do it." "Goodbye Mom" Kudos Grey & Writers and Ellen this episode showed that also with a little cast you can do amazing things no interns or big cast needed __________________

I thought the episode was a bit much. I guess because Maggie was such a brat to her mother, I couldn't feel moved by her behaviours when she found out her mom had cancer. It came across like a child who did not get her way.
I also have some issues with the actress. I just don't find her incredibly convincing. Maybe she needs to improve herself through more emotional scenes. The Meredith and Nathan dance is getting old. Either pair them up or don't. They aren't that interesting to hold the audiences' attention. Kind of tired of scenes. In fact, I am tired of Meredith, Maggie and Amelia. They are incredibly boring together as a threesome, and their stories often drag down any potential modern or fun vibes for the show. Next week is another Maggie centric episode. Good grief. __________________
