Random question, but did April and Ethan ever really interact in season 1? I know during the second half of season 2 she sort of became his nurse more than usual. But that is par for the course for how Med writers their 'love stories' or the start of interest.

Shonda Rhimes announced that she wanted to possibly restart Private Pr,actice which was an offshoot of Greys.
And I've always thought that if the Med writers had treated Ethan and April's relationship better, that would've been the perfect type of spin-off show for them. Of course, it'd be more of a Medical group or something with several specialties either in one office or in one building. Had they focused on their friendships outside of work first. S1-2 she had a cute rapport with Sarah, and her and Ethan were very supportive mentors to her. Just because she wasn't suited to the ED doesn't mean she was a bad doctor. I always thought she'd have done great in private practice working with teens under a more experience female Psy. D. Same with Noah. He'd work better as an urgent care general family doctor. Of course, they would've needed to send April to NP school eons ago. And write a healthy, fun, and completely supportive relationship for Chexton without the yo-yo and roller-coaster petty drama. Then they also would've been able to have a family with regular hours. Of course, Ethan probably would've still worked in the ED and only did shifts maybe on Saturday or a few times a month. Who knows, but it could've been great, and it would've been groundbreaking to have this couple lead the show they could've eventually had some of their other characters guest star or be recurring for the characters that were liked but didn't necessarily fit in on Med long term, like Elsa. Hey, maybe they could've even given Will his safe injection site a few times a week. Poor Chexton, they really could've been great. |

Shonda Rhimes is a mess that supposedly lets her ego get in the way of good stories on her shows (not really supposedly if the GA rumours are true), and aside from that I found Private Practice really boring.
I'm expecting chexton to get their happy ending. |

Huh, I was saying that Med creators could've beaten Shonda Rhimes to the punch and created their own version of private practice years ago. That would've been a good way to retain some characters that weren't suited to the ED. Like Noah and Sarah. Also sometimes feels like they didn't really know what to do with April so she could've went to and Ethan would obviously make cameos.
Since April was originally meant to be charge nurse. Then once the show premiered Marlynne was added as well as Torrey which further lessoned April's role. But it wasn't really about Greys. But at least over there, they can retain their actors, for the most part, so Shondaland must do something right. Med doesn't keep anyone past 1 or 2 contract cycles so far. April is the first to come back. Really strange for a network show. Anyway, Chexton does deserve to finally have a happy ending. Last edited by April.c; 10-30-2022 at 07:35 PM |
