Huge drop for Chicago PD. SVU had a similar drop as well. Both shows hit a series low last night.

Yeah, it's definitely too bad. I wish SVU and PD had a better lead in though. Heartbeat got a 0.7. Obviously we can't put all of the blame on the lead in's sucky ratings but that definitely doesn't help.

A 5 weeks hiatus is killing for any show so late in the season blame it to NBC!

I agree that the hiatus definitely affected the ratings. In the last two months we've barely watched 2 episodes. That doesn't hold our interest.

Maybe next week they will go up with the Chicago Justice backdoor pilot?

That's a god point, Nicky. Maybe Burzek breakup is another reason for the low ratings.

Yeah, we do get another Chicago franchise series . It's about the justice system this time. Next Chicago PD episode will be the backdoor pilot for that, but I think that also Med and Fire characters will crossover.

A huge break usually means lower ratings, but maybe in the repeats or DVR ratings it will get more. They needed to have a break though because they were still filming the backdoor pilot (aka next week's episode) when the previous episode aired. It happens.. But we're already renewed so it's all good

They are mine too and I have a feeling a lot of viewers share our disappointment.

I hope that when Justice is introduced, it isn't too confusing. It's hard to suddenly have new characters but crossovers are definitely my favorite.

It depends on the new characters. I don't like the crossovers too much because I don't watch Fire at all and I watch only from time to time Med. So if it's a heavy crossover I am not that interested in the episode. For example the big crossover this year with the cancer doctor was one of the most boring episodes for me. It missed everything I love about PD and it had everything else .

However I want to see how they would do the Justice show. If they follow the Law and Order formula I would find it boring. If they follow the formula of other law shows I might like it.

I imagine the producers are counting on the fact that all of the series are being viewed. For those who only watch one or two, like you, I can totally understand why the crossovers could be boring.

Since Dick Wolf is one of the producers of One Chicago, I would hope he would not copy from his Law & Order franchise. What would be the point? So hopefully Justice will have a different feel.
