I actually wouldn't mind if it was someone we hadn't seen much like Bree or Courtney. They wouldn't be entirely new and it would extend the plot more into the office rather than being all about Peter like if it's Eli or Kya. I'm a lot more interested in this plot for its effects on Peter/Alicia, Will/Alicia, Alicia, the firm and Alicia's career and friendships than more about Peter's campaign.

I also don't want it to be Eli or Kya because we know they stick around for a while. I would hate for them to find out one of them is doing it but for them to get to keep their job because they're good for Peter's campaign. Those tweets are nasty and could really hurt Alicia.

The new sides are called 'The Trade-off'. There are only two.

It has to do with an Indian family- mother, daughter, son- and a federal investigation into faking IDs/identity theft.

One of the sides if for AUSA Belkin. He's looking into the faked IDs.

Scene 23- Alicia is in the family's apt. AUSA Belkin is there. There are some IDs all with the son's face on them. Belkin wants to know how his pic got on them. Anil (son) says he doesn't know. Alicia goes to the mother who is preparing tea in the kitchen. Mother asks how Alicia is, says she heard about last night and apologizes. Alicia says they're fine and she's sorry about the complaints. Asks what's going on. Mother says the officers just have a few questions for Anil about his work. Alicia says this isn't about last night? Mother says no that's just how they got his name. Alicia goes back to Anil. Belkin asks if he wants to get in trouble, Anil says no. Belkin asks then why isn't he answering honestly. Anil says he is, Alicia asks what this is about. Cops look at her, silence. Belkin says they're questioning him. Alicia- regarding? Belkin says a situation. Alicia asks what kind of situation. Belkin says one Anil seemed all too happy to help them with. Alicia tells Anil he doesn't have to answer their questions. Belkin says this has nothing to with her. During last night's event they ran Anil's license and realized he could help them in a federal investigation. Alicia says he appears to be more victim than criminal. Belkin says then let him answer the questions. Alicia looks around and says mother should invite them all to leave.

29- part of an Alicia/Kalinda scene. Alicia says no thanks. Kalinda says it's billable hours. Her contest is coming to an end and Cary has his eyes on the prize. Billable hours. Alicia says thanks but she's fine.

Scene 30- in Alicia's office- Alicia, Anil, Frida (daughter)- Frida says they didn't know who else to contact. Alicia says it's fine, asks what happened. Anil says they came for her an hour after Alicia left that morning. Kalinda leans in the door listening. Frida says mom was going to the grocery store when these men in a van took her. All they got was a phone number to call and the line's been busy all day. She gives Alicia the number and Kalinda looks over her shoulder at it. Kalinda says immigration. Anil says this is about him. They want his help in the investigation. Alicia says she thought their mom was a citizen. Silence, Frida and Anil share a look, Kalinda sighs. Anil says not technically. She's lived there for 27 years but... Frida says she spent 8000 on an immigration attorney who ripped her off so she just gave up. Kalinda watches Alicia, sees her warming towards them. Kalinda says she has a few names of immigration attorneys. She'll get them for them. Anil and Frida stare at Alicia.

31- Alicia and Kalinda walking away in the bullpen- Kalinda says Alicia is a pushover. Alicia says she is not, she's responsible. Kalinda tells Alicia she's not responsible for every bad thing that happens in the world. Alicia asks where they would put her, the mom. Kalinda lists some places, says they make it a shell game. Alicia asks if Kalinda could find her. Kalinda says ah so you're the pushover but she's the one who does all the work.

34- last half of a scene- Diane and Will- Diane asks eating other people's houses? Will says okay, yes, thank you. Diane gets up to leave and says don't forget, we need to get into the Alicia and Cary situation. Will says the-? Diane says the junior associate position. They need to decide which. They said six months, it's been seven. Will says it's a bad economy to drop somebody. Diane says and yet they promised they would. Asks if he's getting cold feet. Will says nope, next week? Diane says next week and asks if he thinks he can be objective. Will says he thinks he can.

35- Alicia's office- Alicia, Kalinda, Anil and Frida- Alicia says they talked to AUSA Belkin. They're not after Anil, they're after his boss. Frida asks at the travel agency? Why? Kalinda says they think it's a front for selling stolen IDs. She's standing in the doorway, indifferent. Alicia goes to her desk. Frida asks Anil if that's true. He stares at his feet. Alicia asks if he's seen some things that his bosses have done. Anil says no but he hasn't wanted to see. Frida asks if Belkin will get their mom a visa if Anil cooperates. Kalinda says yes if he takes this flashdrive and sticks it in his bosses' computer and downloads three files. Anil is hesitant. Frida says it's mom, he has to. Anil says she doesn't get it. Frida asks what she doesn't get, that he's a selfish pig? Anil says no, that these people are dangerous. Alicia tells him to think about it.

36- Alicia and Kalinda in the bullpin watching the siblings argue. Alicia says Kalinda seems less than sympathetic. scene is continued.

Maybe that's Will and/or Diane's case? They don't seem to have anything to do with the identity theft case. It's Alicia's.

38- Alicia's car at Anil's work- Alicia asks if he's going to be okay. Anil repeats the file names. Alicia says yes just three, that's all they want and he won't be alone. She points to two sedans parked up the street. Anil asks if she told him about the bosses. Alicia says yes, Belkin knows his bosses are potentially dangerous and that Anil has done nothing wrong. Anil asks if he'll keep his promise to release his mother. Alicia says they have a deal in writing. Anil gets out. Says here I go. Alicia tells him to take a deep breath and think about his mom. Says she has somebody in there if anything goes wrong. Anil crosses the street.

39- inside the travel agency Anil works at- it's a niche travel agency catering to the Indian community. scene continues

41- end of a scene- Belkin says federal agents, don't move. The bosses run through a back door, three agents on their tail. They yell hands on your head and the bosses do so. Belkin places them under arrest.

42- Belkin's office- Alicia and Belkin- Alicia says what do you mean they're not releasing the mother? They had a deal. Belkin says they had a deal but Anil blew it apart. Alicia says Anil got them their data. Belkin says he also warned the bosses to get out. Alicia says he didn't. Belkin says they were watching, someone sent them a text. Alicia says he still got what he wanted, he made the arrest. Belkin says they were small time, he wanted their buyer. Because of Anil the operation will scatter in 24 hours. 8 months of work gone. Alicia asks what happens to the mother. Belkin says deportation. Alicia protests, Belkin says what this is, is she broke the law and now she's paying the consequences.

43- Alicia, tired, getting home from work, getting out of her car, she sees a shadow in the dark, someone there, she crosses the street to go around, Kozko calls out her name and steps out of the shadows. Kozko says he's sorry to startle her, says they met at her office (me- in Boom), he introduces himself. Alicia says she knows who he is. Kozko looks around, asks her if she could walk please. Alicia repeats the request, Kozko says please. Alicia eyes him wondering if he's dangerous, shrugs, starts walking down the bright side of the street and he joins her. Kozko says he wants her to give her husband a message. scene continues

I usually just lurk and skulk around here, but after seeing the promo for next week I had to come and post. Created an account and everything. This show totally messes with my head like no other. My read on the Will/Alicia scene in the promo is that she'd most probably back off after his move. Once she sees how intense things could get and maybe even the depth of his feelings she'll be unsure of him and unsure of herself around him. Or maybe something will happen to make her unsure of herself in the future. And then there is this - " The romantic interactions between Alicia and her boss, old friend Will Gardner (Charles), come to a head in a surprising way". What exactly is 'surprising'? This along with Baranski's 'gasp worthy scene' comment makes me think we're in for the unexpected.
My question is, knowing what we know about the upcoming episodes, have the interactions between the two of them changed? Any repercussions from this? Will still seems to be defensive and cagey about the Alicia situation in front of Diane. Diane is more persistent than ever. So maybe Will/Alicia doesn't really hit a roadblock because of this.
So many pieces to the puzzle. I just don't see how I'll be able to get any work done in the coming week.
