Mischa Barton - Updated Rules- Read and Reply

Hi, everyone. In light of some recent events, Courtney and I are going to make a couple changes, and we wanted to brush up on a couple of reminders.

1. Ranting/bashing in the threads
Obviously, we're pretty much all angry at the treatment of Mischa in terms of her being fired from The OC, and it's led to a lot of anger, both at the show in general and at the storylines that never got resolved for Marissa in the way we wanted them. We really want the chance for people to vent here, since we as Mischa fans don't exactly have a lot of safe havens to do so. However, we want EVERYONE to feel comfortable on the board, including the ones who would still like to enjoy the show or those who still feel attached to certain characters. Therefore, I am going to start a rant/vent thread for the board, where the worst of our anger can be relieved. NOTE: Complaining is still allowed in the other threads. For example, if you were to say that you feel that Jimmy was a bad parent to Marissa and talk about why that is, that's perfectly acceptable within CoopCakes (same goes for constructive comments on Julie's parenting, Summer's friendship, Ryan's relationship). If you want to say Jimmy is a useless jackass and you don't know why he lived when Marissa died, that's maybe better for the rant thread. Complaints about the show in general, particularly in things like the news thread and CoopCakes, is something we're going to be very slack on, as there's little denying the show treated Mischa horribly, especially in light of more recent comments by Mischa herself and some of her castmates. We appreciate and respect the people who come here who still enjoy the show, but this is a Mischa Barton board and Mischa was fired from the show. Negativity is going to come up about the show in general (although I hope it goes without saying that this should not get out of hand; wishing actual harm on Josh Schwartz and co. is not allowed). This is more related to the characters of the show. We hope this is a good compromise for everyone. Also, the rant thread is for anything you'd like to rant about concerning Mischa, even if it's more or less allowed on other threads (complaints about the way the media treats Mischa is still allowed in threads like the news and picture threads as this is a never ending problem for Mischa fans, as an aside).

2. Talk about other actors or people connected to Mischa
First of all, we want to make it clear that we are NOT calling anyone out; we haven't ever had a problem with actor bashing on this board. However, with the introduction of the rant thread and the general feeling of unhappiness considering Mischa's exit from The OC is still fresh in our minds, we wanted to clarify that bashing Mischa's co-stars or anyone close to her in her private life is completely unacceptable. Please keep in mind that these people are Mischa's colleagues, friends, family. We're fans of hers; let's behave in a way that would make her proud that we're her fans.

3. Marissa Cooper
We know that not everyone who's a fan of Mischa is necessarily a fan of Marissa; we respect that. However, to a great deal of us, she was our favorite character and she just died. Therefore, there is to be NO bashing of Marissa on this board. This is something we're going to be strict about for the time being; this is a positive place for people to come who loved and miss Marissa. We're not trying to be unfair, we'd just like it kept in mind that she was a favorite to many of us who miss her very much right now. There is SO much negativity towards Marissa online; we need it to be kept away from this board.
