Yeah, you see it pretty clearly with Chris Watts - he didn't want to be seen as the louse who left his pregnant wife and two young daughters for another woman, so he thought if he killed them all he'd be viewed as the sad, tragic figure whose wife left him and stole his kids or something. A small mercy is that failed HARD and now he's one of the most hated men in America.

It's so...typical that people pretty much always say that parents should work it out and coparent effectively for the kids (which I totally agree with) - "as long as there isn't an abusive situation". But this was pretty clearly an abusive situation. That is when you DON'T suck it up and act like everything is going great.

Pitt's alcoholism, going by his own admission, would have been very severe and very longterm. He describes drinking like my uncle drank. My uncle had been abusing alcohol since he was like 13, and I'm talking about him in his 50s/60s.
