I'm also somewhat wary of rideshares here in the States due to pay issues, to be fair. Cab drivers are often union protected.

I really hope if this pandemic did anything, it was encourage millennials to stand up for themselves. We don't HAVE to take these **** salaries with no worker protections.

And in five years, I've gone from working three jobs with no benefits (so I could afford the ACA, lol) to having a federal job with full benefits, generous leave, and union protections - there is no substitution for that stability and we shouldn't settle for less unless we want a different track, not because we're forced into it.
