Parallels

Known for being drama queen female leads of their respective shows, these two women are known for troubled family lives, complicated love lives, a problematic tendency to turn to tequila- but most of all, good hearts beneath all the dark and twisty behavior, fierce loyalty to the people they love, and a willingness to accept rather than judge. We've also noticed some striking parallels in some of their scenes- let us know if you spot any others!

You know, I'm so ****ing sick of all the drama girls on shows that get screwed because they're not happy or perky enough for their male bastard boyfriends. It's like they're saying that if you have problems, if you have gone through so much **** that it's MIND BLOWING, beware, NO ONE WANTS YOU. And then the guy ends up with a horrible stupid HAPPY bitch whose biggest problem in life is being hyperactive as ****.

LOL. No, I agree. This is not entertaining and it's not beneficial- it's punishment to Meredith simply for existing. She's not half as bad as she could be, with Ellis for a mother and Thatcher for a father. She grew up with no parental love or guidance, no friends, no family. She made it to about 30-ish with no connections whatsoever. And she really could be a hell of a lot worse. But apparently that's not the point- the point is, she's not perfect enough for Derek. Whatever. **** Derek. Let him go off with his bright and shiny new model.

And it's the same thing as with Marissa, to bring it back to the whole point of this thread. Marissa was punished for not responding like a textbook perfect therapy patient (despite the fact that she, you know, had no therapy). Everything was her fault, she lost everything due to her own making, and nothing that anyone did to her ever mattered, especially not Ryan.

Word. Apparently if you've been beaten to the ground, you're still supposed to have a smile on your face and put your poor, wittle boyfriend FIRST!

And then people try to compare our drama girls to these HAPPY FAKE WENCHES. Talk to me when your wench is nearly raped by her boyfriend's brother, had to shoot said brother...or when she had her father slap her across her face, her mother tell her she was worthless and ordinary, or her boyfriend to leave her for his wife he FAILED TO MENTION.

Then compare the two girls. It's not a fair fight.

It's so SEXIST, lol. GA is the most sexist show. Apparently, Meredith should respond to all life traumas the way Derek wants her to. Her pain should revolve around not her, but Derek. The same as how Marissa's violation became 100% about how it was effecting Ryan.

I really wish they would. Don't yank a relationship around for three seasons just to show how worthless the girl is and how much she doesn't deserve the Most Perfect Man Ever. How is THAT fun to watch?

It's really not fun to watch a relationship you invested in (because it was obviously good at some point, which is why you liked them) get destroyed after years for something that could have happened very early on. If Derek or Ryan deserves better, introduce the character in the beginning; develop THAT relationship. Stop wasting everyone's time.

And I feel like it makes the guys look fickle. I can see Derek in about eight episodes now. "No, seriously. YOU'RE the love of my life. SERIOUSLY. Forget Melissa- I mean Melinda- I mean whoever that crazy dark and twisty bitch is. It's all you!"
