Granted, I was not pretending we had a grand love story, lol. But still. Part of me thinks BL would have fizzled out FAST when they didn't have any reason not to, but they also could have lasted a few months until something (like the shooting) made it clear they weren't compatible.

They would have, since they just weren't good together at all

They genuinely were super incompatible. On multiple levels. And it wasn't necessarily anyone's fault. Just...not right for each other. And I wish Brooke hadn't been written to have been like...as scarred as she was, because that seems unlikely? He wasn't any more right for her than she was for him.

Honestly, I don't think the show did a great job of ever acknowledging that Brooke was right for Lucas either. Like, 3x17 is a great episode to show that but instead of showing how wrong Brooke was throwing a party for Lucas in the same place where Keith, he's portrayed to be wrong for having justifiable issues with it.

Also, he can grieve how he chooses to a large extent? It doesn't have to be the way Brooke wants him to.

Yeah, Lucas needed to grieve in his own way and Brooke didn’t know him enough to understand that.

You can't dictate how another person grieves. They may not want to do it the whole way holding your hand. That's okay.
