My mom actually wasn't happy when I came home from school once upon a time talking about how my teacher had said the Civil War was about tariffs instead of slavery. So yeah, kids are not learning what these parents think they're learning.

It's hard to unlearn it as an adult, I think. If you trusted your teachers. I mean, I do remember being taught marijuana was a gateway drug. LMAO. Nonsense. But I didn't know that then.

And going to Catholic school maybe didn't help? I honestly don't remember much about our anti-drug messaging, or any kind of learning about drugs, because they were too busy telling us that Jesus hated premarital sex.
