Ben has always come across a bit holier than thou to me. But we now know he is no stranger to on set drama. Heh.

I really wish their old TRL interview was still online, I would love to watch it again. The days of openly flirting LOL. I think there was certainly a mutual attraction between them.

That reminds me of the episode in S2 where Ryan yells at Marissa in front of Alex and Seth. Mindy said on the podcast that it seemed so real she wondered if something had happened between them in real life... I found it wildly inappropriate that Mindy would even consider that as a possibility. The fact that she even considered it and said it publicly makes me wonder if instances like that had happened before, and if so, are incredibly unprofessional in any work environment.

But they were GLOWING together in the first few episodes of the third season. I have not been able to figure these two out in almost two decades, lol.

That's weird that Mindy would say that. Also, does she not remember the age difference? LOL. That'd be saying something about Ben. Mischa was not hugely part of the LA scene until The OC. She had gone back and forth between a small private school and tutors. She had mostly lived in New York. And she's now candid that when she started the show, she was a virgin. So she was relatively innocent and inexperienced right up until she was thrown in the lion's den.

That said, 2x09 IS uncomfortable partially because Ryan is basically spitting rage and Marissa looks so stricken and devastated.

I have no idea how or why they rebounded in early S3, lol. It was weird.

That would be profoundly disappointing if Mischa had to put up with outbursts like that on set. Particularly given their very different experiences of working on set, pressures on them and dealing with fame. I hope that wasn't the case, but if it was, it's no wonder she would consider it a toxic work environment for her - amongst others also being dismissive of her.

And it was weird! Ben was also very cold about it when she left the show so I imagine they possibly had another falling out towards the latter half of the third season. These two deserve their own documentary, lol.
